Why do you believe that music is important to your child's cognitive development?
By Elsie S. on Tue Jul 12, 2011 at 2:01 AM EDT
Many parents believe it is important to introduce music into their child's lives early for a variety of reasons. For some parents, it is the introduction of a cultural art, for some it is a children's activity and for others it is the hope that musical interaction will help develop their child's cognitive abilities.

What is your belief? Is is rooted in facts found or hearsay? Or perhaps a gut feeling or your own observations and/or experiences on what can be gained? Please share your ideas and stories. Please be respectful of varying opinions.
