A-Level Tutors Edinburgh

| Hello, I'm Kate. I have worked with primary school students (2 years of homework help and 1 year of teaching Latin) and am keen to start tutoring again. I achieved 11 A*s at GCSE and 3 A*s at A-level and I also have experience with American university admission processes (ACT, SAT subject tests). I hope to equip my students with skills for successful independent study in the future as well as giving them the help they need with current work. I can provide references on request.

I have years of experience in assisting younger students within my former school with their sciences and mathematics at all levels from KS3 to A level (KS3 to Advanced Higher) My proudest achievement being helping a student get A*s in Physics, Maths and Chemistry GCSEs despite them struggling at all three. Mechanics and Physics are my passion, though I have A levels in Maths and Chemistry too!

| Hi there. I am a 21 year old university student that is passionate about helping others achieve the best that they can achieve. I achieved an A in both Mathematics and Chemistry A-Level and I am currently studying Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. I used to run a free revision lunchtime session every Friday when I was back in secondary school and was told that I was able to 'break it down so anyone understands'. I was able to help turn an E in AS Level into an A at A-Level with my continuous work with them. I charge £15 an hour, as I feel this is both fair and affordable.

| I am currently sitting on a 1:1 upon completing my degree at Edinburgh University in English Literature. I have a place to do a Masters at Oxford next year in English. I have experience tutoring A-level students in history and I am certainly able to teach English Literature at a range of levels. | Hi! My name is Alex and I am currently studying Arabic with Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Edinburgh. Maths, Chemistry and German are my main fields for tutoring, all of which I have tutored in the past (though each subject for a different person/group!) and they were the subjects I completed at A-Level - and I got a fairly decent mark for them too so I think I have a fairly good understanding of the subjects as well as tailoring them to exam boards! My experience to date: - 3 Months tutoring GCSE Maths to an individual - 3 Months tutoring beginner German. 1.5 years tutoring GCSE Maths + Chemistry, some Scottish higher Maths (This one at less regular intervals than the previous two which were weekly) I've spent the past year living in Berlin which would probably make German my strongest pursuit with knowledge of the language and culture from living there that can't be taught in a classroom! And I also have some bonus knowledge on Arabic and the Middle East both from my current degree and a few years of living there for extra interest :)

I have helped my younger cousins through their GCSE’s and IB exams and have gone through GCSE and A-level myself. | I am passionate about Spanish language and would love to teach the language. I am currently studying Spanish and Theology at the University of Edinburgh. I have always loved teaching languages, helping my friends with Spanish throughout school wherever I could. I then went to Nepal in my gap year, where I taught English for a month and last summer I went to Colombia, where I was working for a charity that helps people who have lost their homes as a result of the civil war, teaching English and communicating only in Spanish. Having done my Pre- U in Spanish (I received a D3 or A equivalent in A-Levels) not so long ago, I can easily help people wanting to do well in both their GCSE Spanish and A-Level Spanish. Having learnt Spanish for 10 years now and having had a wide range of teachers (some whom were excellent and some not so good!), I think I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t work for the student when learning a new language.

| I'm a retired math teacher from China and has now settled in Edinburgh. I have a bachelor's degree in math and has been teaching math since I graduated in 1982. My experience in teaching are mainly secondary school to university mathematics, although I do tutor primary school math as well. | Currently studying MA Ancient History at the University of Edinburgh, I achieved the grades A*AAC at A level, having scored the highest mark in the world for Cambridge international A level a English Language (100% in P1 and 98% in P4) , an A in ancient History, A in EPQ and C in Politics. My skills in English and writing prove helpful when teaching essay writing, organisation and exam technique.
