In the mornings, we offer a Pre-Kindergarten program to aid a child's transition into Kindergarten. We also offer a two-year-old program designed especially for the young toddler. We do not require that children be potty trained in this program. They must be potty trained for the Preschool. Enrollment Saint James Christian Pre-School is open to all children between the ages of two (2) through five (5) years old. The Pre-School is non-denominational and children of all ethnicities, religion, and cultures are welcomed. Register by submitting an application form with a $100.00 registration fee. Applications are available at the Pre-School office. As space becomes available, applicants are accepted following an interview between child, parent and Supervisor. It will be determined at that time if the child is ready to benefit from our Pre-School experience. Ratio: We maintain a high staff to child ratio of 6:1. I have an extra bed and a crib for nap times and a large kitchen for making nutritious meals and snacks (plus a few treats). We watch very little television in my home - what we do watch is educational. AVAILABILITY: Flexible hours, short-notice, after school pick-up, school days off, weekends and overnights too. I'll fill in for your usual child care provider during illness, vacation, family emergencies or mom needs some time off. I'm also available as a backup, or an occasionally regular basis or a few hours a week. I may even be available to care for your sick child in your home if you need to go to work. Since I am a single mom, I can make arrangements with my boys' dad for some extended periods or overnights if needed. I have been a child care provider since high school and have taken numerous child development classes including Waldorf education classes. I co-founded Crosstown Coffeehouse and Community Center and developed the early literacy and kids craft programs and hosted the Cowboy Jared sing-alongs. I have lead sing-alongs and dance-alongs at the Alameda Multicultural Center. I serve on the board at Alameda Head Start and Alameda Family Services.
