I have a large licensed day care now for 10 years. I have 24 ECE units, and am continually taking workshops and classes related to my field. I am a member of the San Diego County Family Child Care Association, as well as the YMCA, and attend a support group with other childcare providers in my area.
A few years back I added on a 400 square foot room addition to my home so that my day care children would have their own "space" to learn and grow. We also recently renovated our backyard, which is very large and fenced, so there is plenty of room for the children to play and get exercise. I subscribe to a preschool curriculum, which we do modify so that our younger learners can participate too. We are also on the child nutrition program, so your children will receive healthy meals and snacks here.
I do have one full-time employee, who has been with me now for five years. She has 20 years of experience working with children both as a nanny and in home day cares.
My current enrollment is 11 full-time children, with ages ranging from 15 months to four years old. We have space available now for one child, and will have space for another in August when our oldest heads off to Kindergarten!
