Hello and Welcome!
We started Lola and Friends Childcare Services (L.A.F.) as a way to provide the same kind of warm and loving support we received from this community back when our daughter was much younger and we were new residents in Mountain View. We truly believe in the African proverb that "it takes a village to raise a child" so it is our hope that we can become a part of your "village" and support team as we work together to raise your child to become a kind, loving, compassionate and productive member of our global community.
Our mission at L.A.F. is to provide the best quality of care for your child. We are dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing, caring and fun place where each child can develop in a safe surrounding just like "home away from home".
We are licensed as a Family Home Day Care provider under State of California, Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division in San Jose, CA. We have been cleared by US Department of Justice to have no sexual abuse or criminal records of any kind. We are trained in CPR, First Aid, Health and Safety in addition to Child Nutrition and we are certified volunteers for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for the City of Mountain View.
We have approximately 30 years of childcare experience between us, either as parents ourselves, taking care of the children in our large extended families, volunteering or being a childcare provider for children of all ages.
We also provide healthy daily Breakfast, Morning Snack, Lunch and Afternoon Snack based on the food guidelines issued by the State of California.
We would love to host a site visit for you and your child so please do not hesitate to reach out.

In our effort to raise happy and well rounded children, we do not subscribe to a specific early childhood theory, philosophy or religious teachings. As seasoned parents ourselves, we believe in common sense parenting based on our own real life experience in addition to the various early childhood education and training we have received from the Community Child Care Council (4Cs), the National Association of Family Child Care (NAFCC) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We strive to be good role models to the children by being lifelong learners ourselves so we are constantly improving ourselves to better serve your child.

We have been signed up with Lola and Friends since the end of 2019 and cannot recommend Johanna highly enough. Even before our son started there she put the time in to get to know us as a family unit, to understand our priorities and make sure we all communicate clearly about what's going on with him. He's been going here since he was about 6 months and thrives there.
Johanna is the kind of caregiver who is extremely loving towards the little ones and lets them explore and play while providing a very safe environment. She is also meticulous in organization and keeps us up-to-date with daily logs and a steady stream of photos and videos of our little one. We feel so lucky to have her look after our baby!
