Unfortunately, my son attended this daycare for about 1.5 years. My frustrations and anger are so overwhelming I don't even know how to begin this post.
1) The parking is horrible. There are approximately 5 spots in the front of the building. However, two of those spots are typically taken by the director (Jessica) and assistant director (Hailey).
2) My son started attending Childcare Network when he was about 8 weeks old. The teachers (at that time) were Steph 1 and Steph 2 (both amazing and loving). My son came home with incident reports ever so often; scratches, bumps, falls, and bites. All expected accidents, especially when your child is attending a "group care" daycare.
3) Welcome to the toddler class. The biting got worse. Some weeks he would have multiple bruises down his arms. Of course, I hate the thought of my son experiencing any type of pain, but I assumed it was just part of my son attending "group care." But after reaching out to other daycare providers and parents, I realized what my son was experiencing was not the norm. So I expressed my concern to Hailey, she told me multiple times that "biting is an age appropriate behavior," and that if I had any questions about the biting policy I should look at the Parent Handbook. Well, that didn't sit well with me. Especially since the Handbook states a child will be removed from the program if the biting becomes a problem (hello, my child has bruises up and down his arms, that's a problem!)
4) So, I decided to go up the ladder with my issue. I had the displeasure of speaking with Jody (the District Manager). Jody informed me over and over again that the child that was biting my son, WOULD NOT BE REMOVED from the program, since the biting isn't "negatively effecting the entire classroom and that the biting isn't happening every day."
5) So my child's the victim of a biter. Instead of removing the problem child, my son spent the majority of his day in the infant room.
6) In efforts to save money and stay within child:teacher ratio, he was spending at least a few hours most days in the baby room. Another fun fact I learned after speaking with daycare "teachers," was that my son was chosen to move to the baby room because other children are "biting the babies." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? My son not only is missing out on interacting with children his own age to save the daycare money, it's to prevent the biter from biting babies?!?
7) The turn-over rate is pretty high. Management never informed me of when my son would be getting a new "teacher."
8) Overall, it is very stressful to send your baby to any daycare. Help ease some of the stress by avoiding this Childcare Network at all costs.
