Seeking a secular homeschool tutor for my 10-year-old gifted son (IQ 140), who is autistic and has ADHD. He's a rising 5th grader with a love for technology, science, and math. Due to anxiety, a traditional classroom isn't a fit right now. We need someone experienced with 2e (twice-exceptional) kids and skilled in decoding autistic behaviors. The ideal candidate is neuro-affirming, patient, and confident, teaching upper-elementary math and language arts. The tutor will work with him twice weekly and provide directives for independent work the rest of the week. Must be secular in approach--no religious curriculum. I understand that I may need to hire more than 1-2 educators, 1 for each subject. we are subscribed to the YMCA for extra curricular like dance/sports/music If no group learning is available I'd like school days/learning hours to take place at a facility like the library, ymca or any other learning/child friendly facility (I am open to suggestions) I've tried homeschooling my son for 6 weeks and I'm just not suitable. San Leandro family seeks to hire a combination babysitter/tutor able to pick up children from elementary school one day per week (day flexible, school is short walk from our house in San Leandro) at 1:50 p.m. and watch until parents are home at 5:30 while providing some kind of academic enrichment.
