We are seeking a kind, patient, and creative tutor in the Albany area to support a Spanish-speaking young adult with a mild developmental disability. She is eager to learn new skills and is especially interested in:
Art (painting, jewelry making, crafts)
Dance (Zumba, Latin, or low-impact movement)
English (beginner level - conversational ESL)
Tutoring can take place in our home, and a support person (her sister/respite worker) will be present during all sessions. Ideal candidates have experience working with individuals with disabilities, are bilingual (Spanish/English) or comfortable supporting non-English speakers, and can create a fun and engaging learning environment.
We are using Self-Direction through OPWDD, so tutors must be able to provide itemized invoices for reimbursement.
