I love doing what I do. I have worked the last 12 years taking care of Adult with Mental Retardation. It's such a rewarding job. A little about myself: I have worked full-time the last 12 years for a group home for adults with mental retardation. I loved my job and the people I took care of. My duties included everything from getting them out of bed, bathing, brushing teeth to preparing food, meal prep and assist in feeding, as well as transporting and cleaning. Around 4 years ago my husband and I had decided to check out Foster Care. We have now been certified as Foster Parents for the state of Kentucky for 4 years now. We absolutely love it. I feel as if it was what I was meant to do in life. I am very reliable, trustworthy and dependable.

I have been a nanny, babysitter and preschool teacher for as long as 10 years. I am CPR certified as well as first aid. I am willing to provide references from previous employers. I have experience with special needs children and with kids from the ages 0-12 years of age. I am newly married and love spending time with my husband and our dog Bogart.

I have taken great care of several family members and close friends diagnosed with various stages of dementia, different forms of cancer, as well as diabetes. I am passionate about what I do because I know what it is like to have to depend on someone for all your needs, and trust, compassion, and integrity are all of critical importance. I have also provided partial as well as full physical assistance with meal preparation, bathing and personal hygiene, medication management, housekeeping, redirecting for proper social interactions, and monitoring for safety for special needs clients. I have been in the care field for 6 years. I love and take the care other very seriously. I am 27 years old and working on finishing my Nursing degree. I have worked in many nursing homes as a CNA. I'm a loving, patient, kind person who is a hard worker.

I have experience with many different types of people. I have worked with head trauma patients, spinal cord injury, ADHD AUTISM, DOWN SYNDROME. All types of physical and mental disorders. I have been working at cedar lake for three years and was a live in baby sitter for an autistic child for two years during covid.

I have worked with Seniors, Special Needs Adults and Children for 10+ years from ages 74 years to 3 years. I am currently working for a home health company providing seniors with support and independence in their own homes. I have worked one-on-one providing activities, lesson plans, meal planning with nutrition, and outings in the community. This also included my driving people to and from appointments and activities. I did not think of this as a job because I loved it so much. I believe in engaging people in fun and every day activities. I enjoy being outside riding my bicycle, gardening and walking my dog. I also enjoy coloring and working on any craft projects. In the past I have very much loved learning the hobbies and activities children are in to and incorporating it into care. Hi! :) I would like to thank you for considering me for your child. I have worked in the childcare world since I was 14 years old and the special needs CLS world for about 5 years now. I was a director of a daycare when one of the children I had become close to had a little sister born. Well she just happened to be blessed with an extra chromosome and stole my heart. I have taught her everything from sign language and walking, talking, and potty training and now that she is 7 and in school, we work on reading and writing and math. We have both worked really hard and as a big 2nd grader now she is rocking school with an average level IQ! I still work with her from 3-8 Monday through Friday but would love a chance to get your little genius started early before those hours or even after if you work late. I am always open to a weekend play date! I have been in college going for my social work degree for a few years now and am 3 semesters shy. I plan on completing it as soon as I can financially pay. I have worked with several special needs including down syndrome, autism, CP. I would love the chance to get to know your child and his or her unique abilities. Thanks:)
