Bowling Green State University - Special Needs

I am currently a sophomore at BGSU studying inclusive early childhood education. I am looking to babysit/nanny during the day for a family while I am on summer break starting the end of April. I have many references and have been babysitting for many years. I recently started substitute teaching as well and am trained to work with special needs children along with typical developing children. I am also CPR and mental health first aid certified and I have a clean, recent FBI and BCI check!

I have worked 2. 5 years of education and love spending time with kids and building relationships with them and their families. I babysat a family of 3 kids last year and absolutely loved my time with them for the summer. I used to be a provider for people with special needs (varying ages.)

I have experience sitting for a wide range of children. I enjoy creating special, educational experiences for the kids I nanny. I am comfortable working with multiples and children with special needs, and I am happy to help with housework and cooking. I have a BFA in Digital Art from Bowling Green State University. I have been a caregiver for 10+ years now. I have cared for all age groups from infant-16years of age. I love to plan activities, go outside, have play dates, while also doing homework, studying and cleaning up. I would consider myself fun, outgoing and excellent with children. As well as watching your children I could do light cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. I am CPR and first aid certified and do have a background check with me. I also teach preschoolers and some with special needs during the school year.

I have been working in my church nursery and kids church service since I was 13 years old. I have been babysitting for 6 years also. I was enrolled in the Teacher Academy at a Career Center for my senior year of high school. This program gave me 300 plus hours in the classroom setting from kindergarten to 5th graders. I also have many hours working with special needs children. I have cared for my mom's friends kids ranging from 12 yrs old to 2 yrs old, the 6 yr. old has down syndrome, I have cared for these children for over 5-6 years. I have cared for two boys which both have ADHD for over 6 years. I like to interact with each child by playing their games and joining them on the floor to play. The boys I have watched in the past have even taught me many things about video games and am improving on the challenging games. Being around children and family make me very happy, this is why I have chosen the field of elementary education as my major in college.

Hello! My experience caring for children goes back for as long as I can remember. As the child of a labor & delivery nurse, I grew up around babies and am convinced I have sat through enough Lamaze classes that I could comfortably deliver a baby. I have 14 years of experience that range from occasional date nights to full-time nanny positions. In addition, I have watched up to four children for extended periods of time while parents traveled. I take babysitting very seriously and take great pride in getting to know the family and children that I watch. I recently moved to Maryland from Ohio and one of the most challenging parts of the transition was saying goodbye to the families that I spent many hours with for the better part of my life. There is something truly special about being the beloved babysitter for kids that have grown up under your care. I have experience watching infants (< 3 weeks) up to tweens. I am happy watching kids of any age, but I do very much enjoy watching babies. Kids aren't all the same (thank goodness!) and I have learned many techniques over the years to meet each child where they are and for what they need. As an aside, I love crafting and I love crafting with kids. It is not uncommon for me to bring an activity to do with the kids I watch. It absolutely sets a high expectation after the first couple of times, but anything that takes up time and doesn't include sitting in front of the TV (unless it is cold and rainy and you build and watch a movie and read books) is great in my books! I am happy to provide references and background check information. I just started a new job and had to get one.

I have experiences taking care of children from all ages. I was just recently employed at a daycare where I worked with children whose ages ranged from 6 weeks to 3 years old. I received my associates degree from BGSU Firelands in Inclusive Early Childhood Education in fall 2017, and am also CPR certified. I also worked as a substitute paraprofessional who worked with children who had special needs. I have a true passion for working with children, and am a very patient, attentive caregiver who would be so eager to work with your child!

Hi! I am currently a graduate student at Bowling Green State University studying Speech-Language Pathology. I have over 10 years of experience working with children and two years experience working with special needs children. The youngest I have cared for is 2 months and the oldest is 13. I have expertise working with children on the Autism Spectrum. I am the oldest of 5 children and an animal lover, so pets in the home will never be a problem. I am passionate about providing quality care for your children and will work hard to ensure they are safe and their needs are met.

I have worked as a camp counselor and teacher at Appalachian Institute for Creative Learning as well as Akron Rotary Camp for children with special needs over the last 5 years. I continue to babysit friends' children as well as my own nieces and nephews. I have worked with children from the age of 18 months to 18 years old with all levels of abilities. I know when to have fun and let children be children but I also have a commanding presence and the creativity to keep a child's respect and attention. I appreciate the things that make each child unique and look forward to figuring out how to make each child's daily experience worth remembering.
