About the job

As a Reggio-inspired educator, teachers are responsible for observing children in their play, documenting student learning, planning and setting up the environment in response to observations, and learning about and implementing a Reggio-inspired approach to education. Other responsibilities include: A willingness to learn and implement Nonviolent Communication strategies A willingness to learn and implement Conscious Discipline strategies Develop a loving and caring relationship with students, families and coworkers Maintaining a classroom community that is well-managed and respectful Weekly provocations (indoors and outdoors) to facilitate learning based on careful observations Maintaining a clean and sanitized classroom environment Communicating with families on a consistent basis with an outgoing, professional and positive demeanor Monthly journals sent home for each child with observations and pictures Writing newsletter paragraphs about the class and sharing student pictures Working together with coworkers to contribute to the overall LEDS community Contributing to school celebrations and festivals Attending all teacher workdays as scheduled Creating an aesthetically pleasing environment that is inviting and includes many natural materials in and out of the classroom to enhance student learning
