About the job

Michigan Nanny Solutions is now interviewing for the following position: First-Time Parents in Saugatuck are seeking a Long-Term, Full-Time Nanny for 36 hours per week! Parents are looking to hire an experienced, professional Career Nanny with extensive experience working with infants and toddlers to provide top-notch loving care and consistent learning and development to their infant daughter, who will be 4 months old when Nanny starts. Nanny will work Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 4:30pm for a total of 36 Guaranteed Hours per week. Nanny will start on Monday, July 29th, 2024 (with some flexibility to start sooner or later) and Family hopes their Nanny will grow with their family for many years to come! Nanny will partner with the Parents to care for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of the Baby Girl as she grows from a baby to toddler to preschool age and beyond! They will be a loving, maternal caregiver who is invested in the child's health, safety, education, and growth long-term. They will have experience with various approaches to infant care, knowledge of child development and best practices, and be skilled in facilitating child-led learning, teaching through play and experiences, and helping the Baby Girl explore her interests as she grows up. As Baby Girl's best friend, playmate, and educator, Nanny should be engaging and attentive, able to plan gross and fine motor skills activities and sensory activities and should be fostering a love of and excitement for learning and exploring the world around them from day one. Michigan Nanny Solutions provides nannies with a weekly themed play-based curriculum to make daily learning-through-playtime easy to execute! Daily outside walks (ideally including the family's furry child!) and playtime is expected, and when Baby Girl is older, playdates, story times, classes, and other age-appropriate social excursions will be encouraged with Parent's approval. The Nanny will also be responsible for light child-related housekeeping, including: doing the baby's laundry, sanitizing bottles daily, loading/unloading the dishwasher, tidying and maintaining supplies and organization in the baby's room and play room, cleaning and sanitizing baby equipment (stroller, high chair, car seat, etc.) and toys regularly, and tidying up after themself and the baby in the common areas (living room, kitchen, etc.) They would love Nanny's assistance in adding supplies for the baby, home, pantry, and fridge to the shopping list as items get low. The Parents prioritize keeping their home clean, tidy, and well-stocked, and hope to hire a Nanny who is motivated by the same inherent drive to maintain organization, cleanliness, and tidiness for the benefit of all! The Family is very active and eat a primarily plant-based, whole foods diet and they hope to share their love of being active, spending time outside daily, and healthy eating with their daughter and with their Nanny! They would welcome a Nanny who truly enjoys spending time in the kitchen creating healthy snacks and meals, as they will benefit from Nanny's help in introducing their daughter to a variety of foods (and a love of cooking!) as she grows. They would also love to have their Nanny travel with them on occasional vacations and family trips in the future! Both Parents work from home (the father full-time, the mother occasionally) in offices separate from the areas that Nanny and the girl will spend their time in. They generally stay busy in meetings and on phone calls, so they plan to maintain a low profile during the day to keep interruptions (to their work and to Nanny's work) to a minimum. Nanny should feel comfortable sharing their work environment and brief parts of their days with the Parents. The family has one small, friendly dog who is a treasured member of the family and already adores Baby Girl, so Nanny should be comfortable having Baby Girl's best doggy friend around during their workdays. The Family would love if the Nanny was willing to take their well-behaved furry child along with them when taking stroller walks with their daughter. This request can be negotiable for an otherwise well-qualified candidate who would prefer not to bring the dog along on walks, but the Family hopes their new Nanny loves him as much as they do and will at least be excited to give him daily snuggles and attention and willing to take him out into the fenced yard as needed throughout the day! The Ideal Nanny for this family is an active, health conscious, well-organized, and self-motivated Career Nanny who has a personal and professional passion for spending their days investing in the children and families they care for over long-term, multi-year commitments. They have a calm and peaceful demeanor and a soft, sweet, maternal approach to caregiving, and are skilled in creating a safe and loving environment in which the Baby Girl will thrive. They are also a creative and playful caregiver and natural educator who believes in laying an early foundation for learning by engaging Baby Girl with intentional conversation, books, songs, toys, and daily outside play time. The Family is very family-oriented themselves and hope that Nanny will naturally become an important part of their family and their parenting team and thrill along with them over every new stage, development, and accomplishment as the Baby Girl grows up. Nanny will be skilled in maintaining open and honest communication about the Baby Girl and the position with the Parents and will be able to adapt to the Parent's desires for their child as she grows and as her needs and daily schedule changes over time. The Family's ideal Nanny will have many years of experience working with infants and toddlers, and the Family would welcome a candidate who is a parent in addition to working as a professional child caregiver (though they would prefer to hire a candidate who does not need to bring children to work with them). Preference will be given to candidates who have coursework or a degree in early childhood education, child development, or family studies, and the Family would love to hire a Nanny who speaks a second language or has experience using ASL with infants and toddlers. This position requires a long-term commitment to the family, and preference will be given to the candidate who is willing to invest in this family for the next 5+ years. A minimum of 1 year commitment is required. Pay will start at $22-26 per hour depending on education and experience. Nanny will be paid via family payroll (W-2) and will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid sick days, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits. Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
