About the job

Michigan Nanny Solutions is now interviewing for the following position: A loving family in Portage is seeking a Full-Time Infant Nanny for 40 hours per week! First-Time Parents are looking to hire an experienced Professional Nanny to provide top-notch loving care and consistent learning and development to their infant son, who will be almost 3-months-old when Nanny starts. Nanny will work Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm for a total of 40 Guaranteed Hours per week. The Family hopes their new Nanny can start on or before Monday, June 24th! Nanny will partner with the parents to care for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of the Baby Boy. They will be a loving, maternal caregiver who is deeply invested in the boy's health, safety, education, and growth. They will have experience with various approaches to infant care, have knowledge of child development and best practices in caregiving, and be skilled in facilitating child-led learning, teaching through play and experiences, and helping the baby boy meet his developmental milestones. As Baby Boy's best friend, playmate, and educator, Nanny should be engaging and attentive, able to plan gross and fine motor skills activities and sensory activities, and will foster a love of and excitement for learning and exploring the world around them from day one. Daily outside walks and/or playtime are expected, and when Baby Boy is older, playdates, story times, classes, and other age-appropriate social excursions will be encouraged. As first-time parents learning how to navigate working, parenting, AND being a couple, the Family would also love to hire a Nanny that is willing to flex their schedule one week per month (planned in advance) to accommodate a date night, either working 10am-5pm Monday-Friday with a weekend date afternoon or evening, or choosing one day in the week to work 10am to 10pm to include the date night. They would work with the Nanny's availability to identify the ideal week each month to have this date night happen, and the details of the flex week & date night can be determined from month-to-month as needed. They will give preference to candidates who have the availability and flexibility to make this monthly date night dream a reality! The Nanny will also be responsible for light child-related housekeeping, including: doing the baby's laundry, washing bottles daily and other dishes used, tidying and maintaining organization in the baby's room and play room, and tidying up after themselves and the baby in the common areas (living room, kitchen, etc.) Both parents work from home (dad full-time, mom part-time) in offices separate from the areas that Nanny and the Baby Boy will spend their time in. They generally stay busy in meetings and working on projects, so they plan to maintain a low profile during the day to keep interruptions (to their work and to Nanny's work) to a minimum. Nanny should feel comfortable sharing their work environment, lunchtime, and other brief parts of their days with the parents. The family has one friendly cat, but no care will be needed-just being willing to give the family's furry child some love and attention, too! The ideal Nanny for this family is a loving, patient, and dedicated childcare professional who brings both a calming presence into the home and a high level of energy and excitement for their important role in the family. They are a professional career Nanny with solid work ethic and a high level of reliability, responsibility, and trustworthiness, and they take personal and professional pride in their ability to make a positive impact on the families they work with. The Family hopes Nanny quickly feels like family and feels valued and respected as an important part of the parenting team. They will be skilled in maintaining open, honest communication with the parents and will feel comfortable collaborating with them by sharing ideas and feedback about Baby Boy's development and needs as they change. They have a positive and inclusive outlook on life and strive to treat others with respect, kindness, and empathy (and are skilled in modeling these traits for the children they care for!) They are a creative and engaging playmate and educator who believes in laying an early foundation for learning by engaging children with books, music, art, learning activities, and outdoor playtime, and will consistently seek out new and exciting ways to engage in and explore the world around them. The Family prefers to hire a Nanny with a college degree or coursework in education, child development, or child psychology, and would love to hire a Nanny who holds additional certifications and/or is otherwise involved in continuing education in the childcare industry. This position requires a minimum of a 1-year commitment to working with the family. Pay will start at $22-25 per hour depending on education and experience. Nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid sick days, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits. Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
