4 times a year... for 1 child for... 2 full weeks of days and nights. My job is 2 full weeks at a time. The child would need to stay at the childcare providers home (or in the accommodation where the childcare provider was staying if they were on holiday for example). £14 per hr + mileage - Part-time carer sought for 9 year old with special needs and 6 year old.

by Eleanor • Hereford
We are looking for a carer for our children to work on a regular, part-time basis. Our daughter is a very sociable, confident, happy 9 year-old. She was born with a rare genetic condition which means she has epilepsy and some motor and communication delays. Our 6 year-old son does not have any special needs and is very busy being a communicative, inquisitive child. Both our children use Signalong sign language and we can provide some training in this. We’re looking for a carer who can look after our children, initially whilst we are in the house or very nearby. We both work from home. No experience in working with people with epilepsy is necessary as we will provide thorough training in what to do if she has a seizure. We recognise that new carers will need time to build up their confidence in managing our daughter’s care before being left alone with her. Initially, one of us will always be nearby so it’s very unlikely that a carer would need to respond to seizures without our assistance. We generally need someone weekdays after school 3pm-7pm and we are flexible about which day/s of the week so can fit in with your current schedule. There's also the potential for more hours over the weekend and over the school holidays. We pay £14 per hour (and mileage of 45p per mile for those living over 5 miles away) on an employed basis with a package of training, insurance, sick leave and annual leave. We are a smoke free home. We have two cats. One of our previous carers has been kind enough to write us a little review: "I have been working for the family for the last 2 years. A is a loving, energetic and curious child. M is wonderfully confident little one, who will have you smiling every day. E and I are warm, respectful parents, who have made me feel like an important part of their lives. They provided me with plenty of support and guidance at the start, particularly with A’s epilepsy, and then gave me room to work more independently as both mine, and their confidence grew. I feel that the family have given me the support, training and trust, to create a loving bond with both children, and I would highly recommended them as employers."
