I am currently attending an Associate's Degree in Nursing Program at Northern Essex Community College. I have just completed my first year in the program. I am taking this year off from Nursing School to get some additional clinical experience by acquiring a job as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital on the weekends. During my first year of Nursing school, I had six clinical rotations. My rotations consisted of the following: *Long-Term Care Rotation *Two Medical-Surgical Rotation *Telemetry Rotation *Pediatrics Rotation *Maternity Rotation During these rotations, I took care of many senior citizens with varying degrees of illness. I am CPR certified and have a letter from my school describing my experience with Nursing skills. I have a neighbor who is 81 years old who was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago. During this time I took her to all of her chemotherapy appointments. I also took her to all her other doctor's appointment, did grocery shopping for her and assisted her husband who has early-stage dementia. I could give her as a reference if needed. I entered this line of work because I have a passion for helping seniors during their golden years. I am also a Christian and I believe this is what God wants each of us to do, to help those who may not be able to help themselves!

I am originally from Massachusetts and came here to South Florida (Boca Raton) in 1993 to begin a position as a live-in nanny for a family with three children ages six months, three, and five. In addition to childcare duties, I was also responsible for cooking, shopping, laundry, errands, and assisting with schoolwork. I also created and implemented a behavior management system that was very effective with the children, and traveled with the family as needed. Being the young age of 23 at the time, I was impressed with my job abilities as were my employers. I also stay in touch with the family to this day. In my experience as a teacher, I learned how to manage my time effectively, how to teach students with all different types of academic needs, and how to communicate with parents in a productive and professional way. When I was a camp counselor, I actually was responsible for the nature class and became the Nature Instructor at Pine Tree Summer Camp. I created a unit with mainly science activities, but had other subjects in there as well dealing with nature and animals. I supplied animals for the campers to interact with, and we also observed the process of metamorphosis, and discussed the importance of taking care of the environment. I am energetic, loyal, dependable, and kind. In my personal life, I am organized and task driven, and I believe I can bring these qualities into any job as well. I have always had pets my entire life. Throughout my life I have had two Brittany Spaniels, a Golden Retriever, Hound, and Chihuahua. I absolutely love animals of all sizes and ages. With that being said I know the responsibilities that come with having animals. I am able to do walking, feeding, bathing, grooming, and of course playing!
