Special Needs Care in Mansfield

Hi my name is Amy, I'm passionate about supporting people to live an independent life, whether adult or child. I'm currently attending university to complete a degree in occupational therapy but have previously worked in various care environments. I began working in a residential home assisting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, since this time I have worked in forensic units, mental health hospitals, supported living projects and enable a man with cerebral palsy to live in his own home. I have worked in these roles on a relief basis to gain more experience in supporting differing individuals. I am looking for work to go alongside my studies, I'm fairly flexible with availability. I worked at a special needs youth club for 7 years and loved every minute of it. I am currently working as a support worker for 4 ladies with varying needs and would like the opportunity to care for children/young people again. I have a first aid certificate and dbs certificate.

I strive to provide a high standard of care. I am a very patient and understanding person. I feel this ability is needed for working in the care sector. I have had experience in childcare, babysitting, in elderly care- work experience and voluntary work, and finally in care for the disabled- apprenticeship which then followed on to continuing into employment.

| I have worked in special education since I qualified as a nursery nurse at the age of 17 . I worked for scope in a residential school with children with complex needs. 19 years later I began my job working in the residential department. Since then I have taken a b tech qualification in visual impairments. I am now a curriculum TA in a special school looking for part time work.
