About the business
Welcome to Tiny Hands a Family Home Day Care!
I would like to introduce myself and hope that you will consider me when looking for a caregiver for your children. My name is Maria V. Posada and I started a family home daycare named Tiny Hands in 2013.
A little about my personal life:
I am a mother to three daughters and grandmother to my 5 year old granddaughter. Since becoming a grandmother, I decided to start a family home day care to be able to care for my granddaughter and am voluntarily registered with Loudoun County, VA. I am originally from Portugal and speak three languages; English, Spanish and Portuguese. Caring for children has always been a huge part of my life. As a young woman in Portugal, I was a live-in nanny for a family with four children. When I came to the United States, over thirty years ago, I worked mainly as a housekeeper and nanny. I was fortunate enough to work for an elderly woman in DC who allowed me to bring my three daughters to work everyday and raise them in my care for sixteen years. I then worked for multiple families as a maid and soon transitioned to becoming more of a nanny or babysitter. Many of the families that I worked for had children and over the years came to trust only me with their children. I then began to babysit on weekends and would often have mothers leave their children with me to go run errands. When my granddaughter was born I decided to start my own day care because I love to be around children and care for them. I went to county-led meetings to start my own daycare business and received a certificate for having attended that conference. I knew that I wanted a small daycare to provide individualized, quality care to every child. I am a voluntarily registered family home daycare and am following the guidelines the county also provides to licensed centers. I have my infant/child/adult CPR and basic First Aid certification.
