Our daughter has been going to Sona's since she was 2 months old. She is now 21 months and there hasn't been one day what we have had any worries. Peace of mind is worth more than any dollar amount when it comes to your children, and we have that with Sona. She and her daughter's are amazing with our Zema, she loves them and she's always smiling when we pick her up. Sona and her family even came to our daughters 1st birthday and offered to look after her so my wife and I had some time to entertain Our guests. We even brag to our friends who have children how great our experience with Sona has been. Another thing thats rarely mentioned in reviews, our daughter is rarely sick, I've heard countless parents complain about how often their little ones get sick especially with some of the larger child care centers. I have and will continue to recommend Sona.

We are so lucky to have found Sona's daycare. Our 10 month old son has been going to this daycare since he was 4 months old, and his face lights up every time we get there. Sona and her daughter are so great with the children, and they seem to genuinely care for them. They do lots of age-appropriate development activities with them- our son regularly learns new skills, and Sona and her daughter beam with joy when they tell us about the new things he has learned. He's learning so much from them and from being around the older children. The daycare space is warm and friendly with lots of toys and activities. There's a great outdoor play area, and they are always adding new updates. Sona clearly has lots of experience with children of all ages, and will often have tips for me as a first time parent.

It's a relief to know that our son is in good hands when I can't be there, and throughout the day, I get updates and photo/videos. He always looks to be having a ball. Additionally, Sona always takes the time to talk with me when I do drop off (my husband does pick up), and she is always so on top of all the little things going on with my son. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in search of a child care provider.

My twin boys (now 10 months) started with Sona and her daughters at age 3 months. We thoroughly searched he area day care centers, other home day cares, interviewed nannies, and didn't find any solution that we felt comfortable leaving our children in until we walked into her basement. The entire area is designed specifically for children's development. There are lots of indoor learning opportunities and stimulation, a kitchen exclusively for the day care (where she has generously stored milk for me when I ran out of room in my own freezer), nap room, potty room, and a fantastic outdoor space (not to mention the playground next door and her garden from which she feeds the children). It is a haven for small children! On any day that isn't too windy they are outside playing most of the day. And the activities she dreams up are endless - from creative crafts to children's yoga!

Sona and her daughters have worked with our boys on developmental milestones and keep us up to date througout the day on their progres (even sending photos via text). Even though my husband does all the pick-up and drop-off I feel as if I am fully in touch with how things are going (what they are eating, how they did each day, etc.), which is a great feeling. We are first time parents, and Sona has helped us out showing us different ways to hold them when they were little infants and now different techniques such as how to adjust them to straw feeding now that they are older (but never in a pushy way; only when we are looking for advice or assistance).

It is clear that Sona and her daughters really care about the kids - all the older children are excited to show up in the morning and sad to leave in the evening because they are having so much fun! My boys always come home in great moods so even though they can't yet talk I can tell they had a good day.

I love how my guys can interact with the older kids and learn from them, too. It is a place that I know as they grow they will be able to explore and enjoy even more. It is such a fantastic environment and experience and I couldn't recommend her any more highly. We feel so lucky to have found her for our family.

As a new mom, I did extensive research on childcare options in the Howard/Baltimore County area and considered everything from in-home care to larger daycare centers to family care providers. My husband and I toured facilities and visited several family care provider homes, but nothing felt right--until we found the nurturing environment that Sona has created through her family care service. Her values and approach to childcare is refreshing and exactly what we were looking for.

The children are busy and active throughout the day; they spend a lot of time outdoors, have structured and unstructured play, and are constantly doing new and creative art projects at all ages. (She is always bringing new and exciting elements to her extensive outdoor space.) Sona has created a supportive environment where the children all have a vested interest in the wellbeing of each other. The fact that the other kids often say goodbye to our seven month-old daughter at pick-up, or help tend to her when she fusses, is so nice to see and gives us peace of mind that she is in loving and very capable hands when we are at work. Indeed, we are just now seeing what a huge benefit it is that our daughter is around kids of all ages. She is growing by leaps and bounds, and doing things we wouldn't think a child of her age would be doing. I attest a lot of her development to the daily interactions she has with older kids, as she constantly observes them playing around and with her.

We couldn't be happier that we chose Sona's daycare for our daughter--so happy that we recently withdrew our reserved enrollment (August, 2015) in what we originally thought would be a more convenient, larger daycare center. As a result, we willingly forfeited our non-refundable enrollment fee.

Though she may charge a little more than some other family care providers, it is money well spent, as Sona gets to know each child in her care and truly loves what she does. She takes the time to talk through different parenting strategies, whether it's feeding schedules, napping routines or patterns that she's seeing in our daughter. With the utmost patience and flexibility, she works to create a partnership so the transition between home and daycare is smooth for our daughter and for us.

Kelly's review is so uncharacteristic of our experience that I question its validity--I don't even think I've seen a TV in the daycare. I would be happy to serve as a personal reference for Sona and her daycare. She started caring for our son when he was an infant almost three years ago. We chose her place after we had done many interviews and site visits and felt her daycare to be the clear choice. She treats our son like one of her family and genuinely adores the children in her care. The feeling is mutual--our son loves Sona and frequently asks to play at her house/daycare on his days off. She has extensive experience with children and we have asked and received great child-rearing advice. She'll often send photos of our son via text during the day and it is really nice to feel connected to him while we're apart.

Aside from the relationship she fosters with our child, we have been delighted and impressed with all the things he has already learned while in her care. He knows his shapes, colors, numbers through 20, many of his letters already, songs, rhymes, games and routines (funny--as I'm writing this, I can hear my husband and son singing the handwashing song that Sona taught us). I love it when he comes home with art projects that they've completed together. She also has a consistent potty training routine with the children, which has made our job at home a lot easier.

The daycare space is a dedicated part of the home with its own nap room, bathroom, kitchen and play/school room. The indoor space is well-stocked with toys and activities. There is a really great fenced outdoor play space at the daycare, and a playground very close by. When weather permits, they spend a good amount of time playing outside, which my busy boy needs.

We also feel pretty lucky to have found this daycare because of the flexibility--we just recently had to swap some days and were able to do so. It was a major help. Our work hours start a little earlier than most and Sona has been very accommodating. I don't think we would have been able to find that kind of flexibility elsewhere.

Bottom line--we love Sona and her family and recommend her daycare wholeheartedly. Our experience has been great and we will soon be enrolling Child #2 there in a few months.

I started looking for a good, nurturing environment for my twin girls a year and a half ago, and when I found Sona, I knew it was the perfect fit. Sona and her family have become like second family to my daughters and I. She takes such good care of all the children at her daycare and deeply cares about every one of them. My girls have done so well being there and learn so much every day. The daycare setting is beautiful. Sona even has a garden where she grows her own vegetables. Everything is organic. She has given me so much helpful advice in parenting my girls as well.

After a rough start at a different daycare, I was lucky enough to find Sona and her wonderful family. When we pulled up to her home for the first time, I knew we had found the right place for our first baby! My daughter has been with Sona since she was 4 months old, and she couldn't be happier now at 9 months. My daughter's smile and laughter when I drop her off in the mornings makes it obvious how much she loves Sona, her helpers, and the other kids. My daughter needs a lot of attention but Sona has a policy to never let a baby cry and she always has enough helpers to make sure all her kids can get one-on-one attention, so my little girl is well taken care of all day and I never have to worry.

The daycare area itself is great - they have a large indoor and outdoor area with all kinds of toys and they have a garden that the kids get to help with. They spend lots of time out of doors playing, and even let the kids nap outside when the weather is nice. They sing songs, read books and do all kinds of fun and educational projects with the kids, and although my little one is still too small for some of it, I know she loves watching and has been learning so much from her experiences.

On top of all that, they make the kids food (organic) and even do potty training. Sona and all her helpers are so kind, and they treat my daughter like she is one of their own. I feel confident in saying they are one of the best daycares around!

Sona and her daughter are currently our child care providers. We were going to their daycare from April 2011 and we cannot be any happier. Our kid was only 4.5 months in April. We were very concern about quality of the daycare for our first baby. We checked many daycares before we found Sona. Once we saw her, her family and her place we immediately fell in love with it. And every day we say ourselves how lucky we are with our Sona. It turned out that we found not just a regular daycare, but a loving, caring family for our boy and for us as well.
They take a great care about our son. Sona always notices if something is going wrong, whether the kid gets tired or gets hot fiver while teething. They care not only about kid s habits, how he used to do things the at home, but also they are teaching him new developing skills. Sona s daycare has a huge basement equipped just for kids with child approved materials, and with tons of toys and games for kids of every age. Sona and her family take the best care of my precious one, they treat him as their own child.
Besides knowing that in the daycare our child is safe and happy we also wanted our son learned to speak his native language, Russian. Sona and her family know a lot of languages, starting from English and Armenian, French, Russian and even Spanish and Greek! Sona helps us a lot in teaching our kid Russian language: they not only speak in Russian to our son, but also sing with him Russian songs, and read him his Russian books.
We would like to mention again that they help to develop many useful skills even in such a young age. For example, they teach our son rhythms and help him to develop ear for music by listening classic music and different child songs. They sing with him, they dance with him, play piano to him and with him. They play different age appropriate games, in our case it is hide and seek , different ball games and others. They teach our son various shapes and colors, body parts and many more. They have different teaching techniques for different ages, so as child grows they adjust the techniques to his age. We are also very happy that Sona always tell us what our son learned today, or what new word he said today (or at least something that sounds like a word in his age).
Every day we are delighted that our kid goes to the best possible daycare, where every day spent with Sona and her family is full of happiness, smiles, games, and learning. We highly recommend this daycare.
