Hello parents!
My title is neither nanny, nor daycare center, as I fall wonderfully in between. You get all the benefits of both with me. No large groups of children fighting for attention & passing viruses around! Yet, I provide all meals, snacks, learning & craft supplies at no extra charge. We also take trips to the library for story time & preschool activities, ONLY if parents consent to this. Each child is treated as family! So I am not a "daycare" in the sense that I do not fill my home with 6 or more little ones at once. They do not receive the individual care & attention they deserve in a situation with several children fighting for the caregiver's attention. There's also more chance of sickness in those types of facilities. I keep my numbers very low. If I ever have more than two children in my care, I have my daughter who is also First Aid, CPR & AED certified, assist in the care of the children. So you get two caregivers for the price of one. ;-)
I have a college education in child care & child development. I have 27 years of experience in childcare as a teacher & chef at Children's World, as a nanny & in my own licensed home daycare. As a teenager, my weekends were always booked with babysitting jobs. I found so much joy in caring for children that I decided to take college courses & learn as much as possible about children's physical, mental, & emotional needs. I provide pictures & video via cell phone, as desired by parents, while children are in my care. I use & teach children baby signing, if parents so desire. I'm a believer in baby wearing & attachment care. I am CPR, First Aid, health & safety & Trustline certified. I am registered with AARC & accept payment from them for respite care. I love to encourage learning through Montessori education, crafts & other sensory activities. I adore & encourage the free spirited nature of children. I believe that it is extremely important for ALL children to receive love, attention & affection, but especially those who have to be away from their mom & dad during the day.
I am very physically active & enjoy camping, surfing, biking, exercising, weightlifting, laughing & spending time with family & friends. I'm often described as a compassionate individual who is willing to go above and beyond in order to make others comfortable & happy. My daughters have been going to Nicole's for a few months now and Nicole and her family are absolutely amazing! Nicole is very experienced and loves what she does, and it definitely shows in the care she provides to my daughters. She does her absolute best to make sure that their needs are being met, that they are fed healthy meals, they are being stimulated and they are each given the attention they deserve, which is so important for development! She is also AMAZING when it comes to communication, and I really do feel comfortable bringing my kids there every day which is a big deal because I am very protective of my kids. My daughters are excited to go to Nicole's every morning too which always makes me happy!

I highly recommend Nicole!!! I have been utilizing Nicole to care for my two boys ages 2 & 3 for the past year. She has provided amazing care for my boys who both have developmental delays. She caters to their needs and has gone above and beyond to help them grow and develop. I love that I can feel extremely comfortable while I'm at work and know that my boys are being well taken care of. She is always finds new and creative ways to play, arts and crafts, and even creates homemade sensory toys for them to use. Nicole has been extremely accommodating and flexible with her own schedule as my work schedule can be very unpredictable. My boys have grown a bond and special relationship with Nicole and I couldn't be more grateful that I found such an amazing care provider.

Nicole daycare is really some unusual and wonderful.
We have tried a number of different babysitters and daycare facilities. No one engages and illuminates our daughter Pema like Nicole.
Nicole studied both child development and childcare and really applies what her education
More than education, Nicole just has a way with kids like I have never seen. She works out of her place and has only a small number of kids she takes care of. Our child never comes home sick but instead comes home with so many new words, art projects, and all kinds of creations. Nicole is one of the very few that can get her to eat. Our daughter is 2.5 (almost 3) and gets super excited when we tell her she is going to Nicole's place.
She was there all day today and when I picked her up she was showing me all the new musical instruments she learned and showed me the new fluffy bunny rabbit Nicole helped her make.
Nicole give her healthy snacks and meals all day. She never comes home hungry or wakes up at night (which is a problem at our house, since she is not a good eater).
Her place is nothing fancy to look at, but I have never seen anyone engage Pema so much and see Pema so excited about new things when she comes home from there.
Our daughter is also learning to be social and get along with the small number of Nicole's regular kids.
It is a small family business and the rates are competitive but still low. In fact, I would say very low for what you get.
Sometimes we take her there even if my wife is available to take care of our daughter. We think is it very good for our daughter to be around such stimulation. Last time they planted sunflower seeds (and our daughter likes to watch them grow).
Nicole (and her staff) read to her, all kinds of stuff. No TV, no iPhone.
Also, she texts us little photos and videos throughout the day. It is so wonderful to see what our daughter is up to when we are working or running around. Always puts a smile on my face.
I checked out all the local Montessori's in East San Diego and did some trials, but Nicole's place is just more... I don't quite know the world for it.
