About the business
I am a licensed, home-based group daycare/preschool provider. I have a Masters degree in Education with a specialization in Child Development. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I continue my professional development by taking training workshops in child development, child safety, effective methods of nurturing positive growth and development in children, proper nutrition for children, and craft ideas. I am also listed in the database of the YWCA Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) program.
I have been licensed by Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to care for children in my home. This means that, after investigating my background, visiting my home and collecting written references regarding my character and abilities, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services has given me approval to care for children in my home. In addition, I must adhere to their strict standards/guidelines for excellence in child care.
The program curriculum includes developmentally appropriate learning materials and activities to promote learning and development for all children. Children grow and develop at different levels and the program curriculum is adjusted to meet each child's individual needs. Children also learn through play and are given opportunities throughout the day for group play and free play.
I also believe in positive family-school relationships, which helps support the child's learning and development.

Learning Ladder is an excellent home-based childcare center to send your child. My child has been attending since he was six months old and since that time, I have watched him exceed his milestones ahead of schedule. He's only 2 1/2 years old and he knows all of his alphabets and shapes, counts higher than 20, and is learning how to write his name, which he can also spell. He is truly thriving at Learning Ladder and he is excited to learn because Ms. Angela makes learning fun and finds creative ways for kids to master tasks while enhancing their motor skills and cognitive development. Ms. Angela is a kid at heart and really cares for children as if they are her own. I could not have chosen a better childcare provider for my son than Learning Ladder.

We have been attending Learning Ladder for 3 years now - two children 3yrs and 7mo.
I highly recommend Ms. Angela, she provides a structured home based child care center, in a loving/learning environment.
My daughter has had SO many positive experiences at Learning Ladder with Ms. Angela, this is her "home away from home."
What I really liked the most was that all of the children are in the same area, no matter the age, and all are included in the daily lesson - no one is left out. This really helped my daughter excel from day one and I know my son will do well too.

My daughter absolutely flourished at Learning Ladder! Ms. Angela has a knack for giving each child "their time" so that they feel very important to her. The kids are taught to share and play together so she has several "sisters and brothers" now!
What I love the most, though, is how much she learned. She started 1 month after her 3rd birthday and within 6 months she new how to spell her name (8 letters!). She is now 5 and heading to kindergarten and she can fully read, she can do basic math, she recognizes all of her shapes and I can go on and on. The point is, she is fully prepared for kindergarten and I attribute that to Ms. Angela's teaching style. Enrolling my daughter in Learning Ladder was the best decision I could have made for her!
