We are located Russian Hill and offer a safe, secure and clean environment that is warm and inviting to children between the ages of 0 to 4. We provide carefully planned activities throughout the day where play and learning are the most important ingredients. We focus on social relationships, language skills, problem solving, fine and gross motor development and music and movement. We work to instill values such as Respect, Caring, Patience, Politeness, Cooperation, Empathy and Forgiveness with each child.

We offer 2 meals daily, breakfast and lunch, as well as 3 snacks throughout the day. The meals are planned ahead of time based on what fruits/vegetables are in season and the menu is emailed to parents at the beginning of each week. Most ingredients are organic.

We are housed in a 1,800 sq. foot home at the bottom of Lombard's crooked street.

I am a former elementary teacher and mother of two toddlers . I have a BA from UC Berkeley and received my teaching credential/graduate degree from Saint Mary's College. The lack of a good daycare in Russian Hill, Pacific Heights, Nob Hill, Marina or the Cow Hollow was my inspiration for opening up Building Blocks Daycare. I remember looking for a daycare for my first daughter when she was born, but was so disappointed with the options that existed that I refused to put her in any of them. Don't get me wrong, I am sure there are some great daycares out there, but usually they have no spots available. Building Blocks Daycare is the kind of daycare that I was looking for for my children, it is safe, fun, clean, flexible with hours/days, and professionally run by people that I would trust with my children.
