About the business
I have been a DCFS licensed home child care provider for the last 25 years. I truly enjoy being with children of all ages and watching them develop in stages. I believe that children are little people with a voice and need to be understood in their language. My biggest reward is when a child comes back and says "look Auntie Nancie I did this/that or I can do this/that." It is rewarding when children that I have cared for stop by with a school report card and show me how well they are doing in school. The motto and name in which I run my day care "Building Blocks for Tots - Where we build on to your child's future."

I needed to switch day care providers last minute and Nancie welcomes my son with open arms. She was amazing! Playing with friends, learning, fun trips and activities...I always knew my son was well taken care of. As a parent, I was informed of everything from what my son did that day, policies, etc. I couldn't have asked for a better day care!!

These people will scam you. Anything to get more and more money. That's all they care about. Do NOT leave your credit card info on file because she will claim she cant make payments and it shows recurring just to get late charges out of you. Aside from this her husband does ALL the work. She's never even around. SCAM

Forgive me for not seeing this and responding prior to now. Nonetheless, I am so GLAD that others interested in our care have come to see, get to know and experience me/my business for themselves. The daycare is yet open and thriving. I'd also like to note that the very person who left this review had to return to my business for 2 years during COVID with their son. The blessing is that I didn't turn my back on them during a time of uncertainty when childcare was very hard to find, availability and safety of care was also questionable.
My husband and I work together to provide a safe, loving, sanitized/disinfected facility. I'm happy to offer parent references upon request. Lastly, it is important to know that we are not in the business after 20+ years of scamming anyone.

Nancy and her assistant are very hands on. They are always learning, and doing fun activities to keep the children engaged. She made my husband and I fell comfortable placing our child in her care from the very first visit to her establishment. Our child has now been going there for almost 2 years. We haven't it any other way.

Building Blocks 4 Tots is a loving, responsible and caring daycare business. We always know that our child is in excellent hands. They have activities, outings, story time and much more to develop your child. We were blessed to have been referred to Building Blocks 4 Tots. We did a meet and greet with Nancie, her house is nice and clean. The kids seemed to be very comfortable in her house, very much like a family. The kids got along great with each other and Nancie. There seemed to be a lot for the kids to do. Nancie provided some structure to their day without too much structure. We would have loved to have her care for our child, she just was a little further away then we wanted to travel. I would recommend her.

Nancie has been watching my son since he was 7-weeks-old. She has been absolutely wonderful! Being a first time parent, I was nervous to leave my son with someone I didn't know very well, but she did everything possible to put my mind at ease. She even texted me pictures of him so that I could see he was having a good day. She loves my son (and all of the other children there) as if he were her own, and he lights up every morning when I ask him if he's ready to go spend the day with Nancie. She is a great provider and really does value the relationships she builds with her families. I highly recommend her!
