About the business
Salutations, families!
I have space for 2-3 children to join the morning or afternoon preschool program in our home on SE Hawthorne.
About the Preschool:
My goal is to help acclimate your child slowly and comfortably to a school type environment. I offer a maximum of 4:1 student teacher ratio, in a quaint, fun organized classroom type playroom. We also have a nice sized fenced backyard and live one block from a park and love to utilize both of those spaces! Our hours are Tuesday-Friday 8am-1pm with tons of flexibility, some parents come at 9, some prefer 8:30. Afternoons are also an option. I charge an hourly fee from $20-30 depending on your needs. I don't charge for missed sick days, or vacation time when you're away.
My Teaching Philosophy:
With nurturing love and acceptance of each child, my intention is to give your child the highest quality of care, I strive to give the perfect balance of structured routine, with the freedom to play and create.
I enjoy helping children discover important life lessons through exploring new concepts and learning new skills, all while still having fun! I encourage good habits like being kind, healthy eating, washing hands, and picking up toys before moving on to the next activity. I practice conscious and respectful parenting. That looks like, empathizing with and encouraging all the big feelings, while holding the boundary.
About Me:
I'm an artistic and nurturing caregiver. I have been nannying for 18 years! I love to sing, dance, do arts and crafts, play games, be silly and spend time in nature. I am also a mother, to our 4 year old Frankie. She has been reading for over a year, loves to play in the mud, make art projects and build Lego creations. She is always with me while I care for other children, and everyone loves her.
My Qualifications:
I studied Child Development for 4 years in high school and have continued to research child development, parenting and child psychology independently. For the last 18 years, I have worked as a nanny for children ages 3 months to 12 years old with over 20 families.
Last thoughts:
When you enroll your child into my care, I hope that you and your family will become like family to us. I love developing long lasting relationships with the children and families I work with. My hope is that your child will always cherish his or her memories at this preschool, looking back on their interactions with me, and the experiences they have, as a wonderful, magical time in their lives.
