Elderly Care in St Helens

| I have worked with clients with mental health problems MS and Parkinson’s disease. I provide support with personal care, meals l support clients at home and in the community. I work on 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 support. Car driver can attend appts etc as needed.

| Hi my name is kelly, im 36 years old. Im currently working as a support worker in st helens. I've been doing this job now for almost twelve months. I love my job and would like to work more but hours are limited where i currently work.... I love support work as its really personal. I find care homes a little to impersonal and i prefer 1 to 1 work as i feel you can get to know the people you're caring for/ supporting better. I would preferably like to find regular service users whom i could build up a working relationship with over time. I don't mind how big or small a job maybe from just collecting someone's shopping to sleep ins. I don't drive so would like to find work in and around st helens, i don't mind nights and my current job I'm on a rolling rota so I'm available set days every week.

| I have worked with the elderly now for 5 year's and I love every minute of it. I work with residential EMI, nursing EMI and general nursing. I have lots of experience in working with people with dementia and I am a dementia friend. I always work to the best of my ability and treat people how I would like to be treated. I don't have my own transport but would be able to use public transport to get to you. | I am fully qualified in adult health care and prior to taking my last job self employed I was a bank manager for 10 year. I decided I want to work for myself and go back to what I trained in doing. I have been working for a lady aged 78 for just over 8 years who has mobility issues due to her having ME and Alzheimer’s. The family have now relocated her back to her home town in Glasgow and I have been commuting and living in from Monday to Friday and now a week on and week off for the last 9 months. I am looking for work again closer to home in St.Helens and the surrounding areas. I have been her primary care giver as her family didn’t live locally. I looked after her finances and day to day shopping, all doctors appointments and I would attend these with her. I would deal with any other staff and occasional workers for maintenance and groundsman and cleaning staff. I am available for over night stays if needed and I hold a full UK clean driving licence. I live in St.Helens and willing to travel within Merseyside, Cheshire & Greater Manchester. I have grown up children so I am flexible and happy to work weekend hours if required. | I really enjoy my work. I find it very rewarding caring for the customers and enabling them to live as independently as possible, I listen to their wishes and care for their needs cheerfully and with discretion. Part of my role involves working with other carers when customers needs are greater, such as those suffering from dementia. Although such customers can be challenging to work with, I always remain calm and deal with them in a polite, professional and reassuring manner.

| I have been in the caring profession for the last 38 years & it has been predominately in looking after the elderly. I started this profession as a care assistant then worked & gained valuable knowledge & experience as a senior care officer where I had a lot of responsibility in ensuring the 37 residents & staff on duty, and health & safety were my priority. I thoroughly enjoyed my job & got a lot of satisfaction from it, on occasions it was challenging but so worthwhile. I was responsible for health & safety issues, notifying next of kins & keeping them informed of their loved ones. I worked at a residential home but regrettably it was decommissioned which was heartbreaking for all of us who lived and worked there. So I am looking to pursue my career in looking after the elderly as to the best of abilities & hopefully I can make your life a bit more enjoyable. My goal is to ensure everyone receives a high standard of care from me were they are given choices regarding every aspect of their care, their privacy is respected, & their beliefs & cultures are maintained & dignity is preserved.
