There are so many reasons that I have chosen to work with children, in this career I have had the most rewarding experiences of my life. At 15 I was to be an Assistant childminder hired through the school and university holidays. I have spent time working for PGL, an outdoor activity center for children. As children would stay away from home for a few nights in our care it was my job to make sure that they were safe, happy and well for their stay. I excelled really well and knew I’d found the right career. Most recently I have been working in Canada at a summer camp for children 4-18 years old that are in foster care, after being hired as a counselor I was quickly promoted onto the management team as Head Counsellor due to my experience, compassion and confidence. I really enjoyed getting to share my experience and knowledge with the counsellors as well as getting to deal with some of the bigger picture stuff relating to the development of the campers. Alongside my professional life I am a good cook and I have enjoyed studying Counselling therapy. I would love to bring all my skills and experience and become a part of your children’s lives.
