We need a full-time caretaker for our mother, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and will be starting treatment in a few days. We are a household of 4 – 2 adults and 2 girls (age 12 and 4), and our mother (66 years old) now lives with us. Our mother is mobile and largely self-sufficient currently. We need an experienced caretaker who can support our mother 9am – 5pm, 5 days a week as a caretaker and companion primarily, for at least 6 months initially (with potential for longer term employment). The focus will be to make her as comfortable as possible, and stay in touch with the rest of the family, should there be symptoms or signs of an unstable condition. In addition to taking care of our mother, the caretaker will also be required to support the household in some respects. Key responsibilities and criteria will include: 1. Provide companionship to our mother 2. Be willing to cook 3. Be willing to accompany our mother on walks 4. Be willing to run some errands (eg. Pick-up groceries, medicines, etc.) 5. Live in Dundee or surrounding areas close by 6. Be willing to accompany our mother on medical visits 7. Do laundry and dishes for our mother and for the household 8. Be willing to supervise two girls 9. Be English-speaking 10. Be legally permitted to work in the UK 11. Be cleared in appropriate background checks, and be willing to share the reports In addition, the following criteria are good-to-have: 1. Have experience caring for cancer patients 2.
