My name is Hannah and I am looking for an elderly care provider in Carmarthen SA31 for my grandfather, Ron. My grandfather has terminal cancer and sadly has not long left for this world. He is a funny and charismatic person, always ready to joke. The neighbors all really like him and often call by. He has a wicked sense of humour and a cockney accent. He is a fun character and very independent. Always a mischievous twinkle in his eye! Recently Ron has started struggling to walk as the cancer has spread to his bones. But he still likes to try and get around. Probably caring for him will require someone standing close by in case he stumbles. You would also need to help him get dressed, not entirely, but just for the tricky bits like socks. He is quite a gentleman, so he would probably try to do it himself for the first few attempts. He needs someone sympathetic and patient - with a cracking sense of humour. Ron will also need someone to cook and prepare meals for him. That’s one of the most important parts of the job. When nobody is around, he doesn’t eat. He’s nervous of cooking in case he falls over. Since my grandma died, his cooking has been a bit basic and I’m sure that he would love a home cooked meal. He’s quite traditional, so if you know how to knock up some classic British dishes, he would be delighted! But any type of breakfast, lunch and dinner would be much appreciated. The kitchen is really big and modern - a pleasure to cook in. The carer would also need to help him wash. Ron has a sort of system where he sits on a stool near the shower and uses a sponge, but a little (very subtle) help would be much appreciated! My grandad has a lovely spacious house, and if you ever needed to stay or lie down, there is a nice en suite bedroom. There is also a patio and garden where you can take a break. Ron is also an extremely funny and kind character. I’m so proud to be his granddaughter. He is full of banter and old London charm! If you think you’d be a good fit, please reach out to me!
