Hello, we are a family looking for a responsible Nanny, to help us with our 2 children. You'll need to have some experience of childcare (not necessarily professionally) and be able to provide references. We are offering a full time, employed, “annualised hours” contract which involves child-minding, school runs, cleaning & laundry. The total contracted hours are around 2,200 over the year – at £10.00 hour – which provides a gross salary of £ 22,000/ year, paid monthly in arrears. The hours worked each day and your annual Holiday days are all agreed and defined in the contract. During term time your hours worked would typically be from 7am to 9am and 3.30pm to 6.30pm, 5 Days a week – Monday to Friday. A further 2 hours per day is paid to cover laundry & cleaning. During school holidays the hours would increase to 7am through to 6.30 pm, Monday to Friday. You would be expected to fit Laundry and Cleaning duties in alongside childcare, on those days. We commute long distances to work, so some flexibility around the 6.30pm finish is required. Typically, this means staying until 7pm up to twice a week. Any further hours would be by prior agreement. You’ll be asked to keep a record of the hours you’ve worked each day so that payment can be adjusted at the end of the year for any hours worked, over or under, the contracted hours at the end of the year. We also pay out of pocket expenses (for example your fuel costs) associated with your duties and you’ll be asked to record these also, so that they can be refunded monthly. We offer 28 days paid holiday each year, including all public holidays. We specify the dates of 22 of the 28 days in the contract. Up to 5 other days Holiday can be taken unpaid. You’ll need to be a car owner, with suitable insurance cover. The school runs are morning & evening. We would ask you to prepare an evening meal for both children. We would welcome applications from individuals with existing family childcare responsibilities as long as such responsibilities can be covered alongside the hours specified above (for example covering school runs for your own family alongside this work, or looking after another child alongside ours in our home).
