About the business
Veggie Patch Nature School is a play based outdoor preschool, where children are allowed to learn at their own pace, be one with nature, and gain age appropriate skills and knowledge. Friendship and learning surround our days all while allowing the children the space to follow their interests, being a guide in their own learning. We read stories, sing songs, use nature as our teacher, and learn how to be a great friend.
We embrace messy play of all kinds. Messy play fosters creativity, imagination, exploration. It also encourages communication, social emotional, concentration, and physical development. They come to Veggie Patch to explore, get messy,and leave most of the mess here and not at your home!

Miss Jessica is an amazing caregiver! My son was always so happy to see her and, although he was too little to join, watch all the fun activities the bigger children enjoyed while he practiced tummy time. While in Miss Jessica's care my boy learned new skills, gained strength and developed quite the social skills by playing with the older children and finding his voice! Whenever I had anxiety about leaving him she always put my fears to rest. She also gives out daily reports on the children for the parents to take home.

Jess took tremendous care of my three kids aged 4-4-2. They always had creative activities to do and if the weather was even remotely nice, they were outside, which I really appreciate! Jess is patient, creative and understands how to communicate effectively with kids of all ages. I wholeheartedly recommend Veggie Patch.

Jessica is amazing and has watched our boys for the last five years. She watched our first son from age 1-6 yrs and our second son from birth-3 years old. My boys absolutely adore Jessica and so do we! Jessica is amazing at getting down and playing with the boys and letting their imaginations run wild. She is right in there with their imaginative play, be it star wars, trains, construction, trip to imaginary places or just getting outside and playing ball, digging or exploring. She is also excellent and making sure there is structure during their day and that it wasn't just a free for all. They always knew what to expect with Jessica and I know they loved that (ie: snack time, lunch time, nap time at the same time every day). When it came to disagreements or one boy not acting or talking like he should, Jessica was amazing at getting down on their level and telling them that it wasn't Ok to talk like that or helping them resolve their disagreements or sharing problems. They absolutely thrived under her care and they miss her dearly! My boys are in school full time now otherwise we would still be with Jessica. My boys will be at Veggie Patch on all their school breaks though! You will love Jessica and so will your child(ren)! I can't recommend her enough!
