About the business
Our program is year-round, but we do have an official start date of a new academic year each fall. Our program enrolls on a monthly basis as space allows. Tuition includes 2 snacks per day and lunch.
At sparks Academy, we utilize both Maria Montessori + Reggio Emilia philosophies. The children receive individualized lessons in academics including language and math, and group lessons in science. A certified teacher works one-on-one with each child or in small groups to develop a learning plan that fits their pace of learning, emphasizes following through with each small step, and brings a sense of joy and organization to their learning.
Reggio Emilia + Maria Montessori: is a philosophy that you will find influencing our entire curriculum and physical environment. We consider the environment to be the third teacher, and pay special attention to the cleanliness and organization of our space, as well as the inviting spaces and colors in our rooms and materials. We have a beautiful art studio (aka Atelier) where masterful art teachers work with children one-on-one and in groups.
You'll also find that diversity is one of our core values. From our multilingual circles to our commitment to fostering different learning styles, we honor the diversity in the world and the uniqueness of each child.
We cannot do what we do without the connection we have with parents. Communication between teachers and parents is consistent, complementary, and collaborative. Documentation, such as photos, notes, and collaborative analysis of children's activities, serves as a tool to help understand and guide decisions within the classroom.
You can see that all of our philosophies and materials blend together to create a fun, child-led, environment focused on each child's fulfillment, learning journey, and joy!
