April's Loving Home Learning Center is Licensed Family Home Childcare and Preschool with great references and years of experience. We specialize in the loving and educational care of children right from birth! We know it's difficult to choose the perfect care provider for your little one, so we try our best to make sure that your little one is surrounded with opportunities to grow and explore the world on so many levels! We have infant specific areas, toys and materials. We also have FULL PRESCHOOL curriculum, even teaching Kindergarten during 2021. Our large eat in kitchen serves up fresh delicious home cooked meals and lots of smiles!
We are a teaching home daycare and strive to ensure that you little ones are always receiving age appropriate care and stimulation. We have a strong music, art, library, preschool and sign language program. We have a large and fully stocked indoor classroom for all ages as well as a large fenced and treed back yard with an elevated composite deck for safe play. We consider outside playtime our outdoor classroom and most kids don't want to leave at pick up time, and that's the truth! We live in a safe and lovely neighborhood on a quiet cul-de-sac. We plant gardens and spend a lot of time outdoors. We are in walking distance to the Kisker Road Library and Veterans Tribute Park. We are unlike any other daycare you have experienced, and love every minute of it!
We have written policies and established procedures. Your child's well-being is our business! We combined the best of a nurturing and loving home setting along with the benefits of large age appropriate playrooms, outdoor classrooms and a multitude of educational toys and materials.
We have daily communication with our parents via our online real-time updates and photos. We know that there is nothing more important than the safety of your little ones! We are committed to providing educated care based on science, facts and best practice. We do require all families and children to be vaccinated for Covid 19 as soon as the vaccine is available for your Child's age group. We are all vaccinated and keep up with boosters, for everyone's peace of mind. If you are not vaccinated, it is not too late to get one! If you are still uncomfortable with vaccinating, we are not the right fit for your family.
We feel that our daycare families ARE family, and continue to care for older children evenings and weekends also in our 24/7 care. We hope you will join our Daycare family!

We are a Missouri State Licensed Family Home Childcare, and have been in business since 2013 (and previously during the early 90's when my children were small). We are both college degree'd and have years of experience working with children and specialize in providing a unique blend between a more formal preschool (educational) structure and a loving home setting. Our parents have consistently given us excellent references, and we love every minute of it of working with these precious little ones! I am the mother of 4 wonderful (grown) children including twins and have years of experience with twins, newborns, toddlers, preschoolers and also school age children. I have completed train for Learning Without Tears (Handwriting Without Tears) Get Set for School Kindergarten Readiness and K-5 Handwriting print and cursive writing. I have worked with the CARE (Illinois version of Head Start) helping "at risk" preschoolers, the Francis Howell School district, my own Licensed Home Daycare, Public Day-cares (as Lead Teacher in the Infant/Toddler rooms), and OBGYN (for 9 years) and as a medical assistant to an OBGYN also teaching maternity and newborn care as well. We are CPR and pediatric 1st aide certified, have all required training per MO State Licensing Regulations, and are insured. I have volunteered as both a Cub Scout and Girls Scout leader and also worked extensively with local skating teams (as a team "Mom" when my children were younger. We make every effort to provide the BEST Family Home Care possible for your little one...we LOVE what we do...and it shows!

You can not find a better, more loving environment for your child then April's Loving Home. My family has had at least one child enrolled at April's since April 2016. Over the past 6 years, April and Charlie have helped us to raise our two children by providing a loving, playful, and educational space for them.
When our children were infants, April and Charlie were supportive and helpful as we navigated becoming parents. They were open to our needs regarding diapering, feeding, etc.
As toddlers, our children were given the freedom to explore and learn about the world- the outdoor space at April & Charlie's is amazing. At this age they also began to enjoy the amazing meals that April and Charlie provide each day. Charlie is an amazing cook and they were introduced to a large variety of different foods- your kid is not going to each chicken nuggets and mac & cheese here every day. I firmly believe that this introduction by April and Charlie is one of the reasons my kids eat so well and are open to trying new things. April uses American Sign Language (ASL) with the kids and it was extremely impactful for us. Even years later, our family still using basic signs. Also, April is a potty-training genius. She was extremely helpful during this process and I credit her fully for potty-training my kids.
As preschoolers, my children learned so much in April and Charlie's care. While I am so thankful to April and Charlie for teaching my kids the basics- colors, numbers, letters, proper penmanship, reading, etc., the true gift that they have given both of my children is a love of learning and a curiosity about the world. They are both truly invested in the children that they care for and are willing to jump in whole-heartedly with whatever the kids want to learn about- from building robots with Charlie to studying ocean life with April.
Ultimately, it is a hard decision to make when you are choosing who to trust with your kids. For us, the decision to send our kids to April and Charlie's will always be one that we are thankful for and they will continue to be a part of our lives for years to come.

We absolutely love April and Charlie! They have been like family to us in caring for our children. We have been with them for over 5 years, since our son was 3 months old. The daily connect app was beneficial in easing my anxiety when returning to work. They were supportive of cloth diapering and any feeding method a parent chose. They held a spot for our daughter to attend as a newborn as well. There are so many things we enjoy about them! Their curriculum is always engaging and age appropriate. Our children are able to accomplish skills ahead of their peers due to April and Charlie's instruction and their ability to make learning fun. They often change the classrooms and wonderful outdoor area to meet the needs of the children they are caring for. They incorporate sign language from a young age to help reduce child frustration and facilitate communication. Our family still uses it to this day! They have strong music and art programs including exposure to multiple instruments and even yoga and performative arts (ballet, tap, etc.). They have parties to celebrate birthdays and holidays and have been extremely generous to our children and family. April and Charlie provide so many items for the children to lessen the stress on parents: all meals and snacks, bike helmets, swim wear, rain coats and boots, snow pants, the list goes on. Their food is always nutritious and the kids are exposed to a variety of foods. April and Charlie focus on behavioral correction in a loving manner while promoting positive social skills and interactions as well as self-efficacy.
Since the pandemic, they have continued to implement safe procedures and policies for the daycare. We are essentially a "bubble" in the fact that all parents on the same page about limiting unnecessary exposure for the purpose of increased safety for the group.
My son is starting Kindergarten this year and April and Charlie offered to teach him at their home. We are so greatful for this opportunity.
They have ordered all the supplies and materials and already have extensive materials. I have the utmost confidence that he will continue to progress his learning beyond expectations while having the flexibility and safety provided in this setting.
There aren't enough positive things I can say about this place! They have thought of everything, and we are so lucky to have found such a wonderful, loving place.

Charlie and April were amazing with our son and later our daughter. They became family to us and more like grandparents to our children. We were very leery when beginning our search for sitter for our son. We did not want a public center so we were searching for an in-home smaller setting. Once we learned about Charlie and April we contacted them by phone. April answered all of my questions. We then set-up a meet and greet at their home. Charlie and April were open-minded to all of our wishes. We met in the fall and our son was born in January. They held a spot for our son and we kept in contact as our son came earlier than expected. We love that they use the app, Daily Connect which provided us with ongoing information about our son throughout the day as well as pictures! It was a great way to communicate any information, fid out how his day was going and to see all of the pictures of what he was doing. Charlie and April were both always willing to try anything we wished. They took the time to listen to us and learn about our family. Our son was always happy to go to their house and many times not ready to leave at the end of the day. He fully trusts and loves both Charlie and April even to this day as he no longer attends. Charlie and April have created a loving and nurturing learning environment for children that far outweighs any you will find in a public setting. When we found out we were expecting our daughter, Charlie and April held a spot for her from the get go and welcomed her into their home with open arms. They again went above and beyond in caring for our children. We were deeply saddened when our children could no longer attend due to moving away from the area. Charlie and April remain active in our children's lives and they speak of them often. They will always hold a special place in our hearts. It is so very difficult to leave your children in order to work, but Charlie and April made that transition easier.
