DO NOT SEND YOUR BABY HERE!! My child was in this daycare for about 2 months and I would not recommend you send your child here. My infant was only 6 months old when starting and would come home covered in bug bites and bruises on almost a weekly basis, sometimes multiple times a week, with the teachers in her classroom unable to tell me what happened. The bruises were usually finger sized on her legs and back, and they always tried to tell me "maybe it was the highchair or crib." While looking for a new daycare I would have to bring her home and immediately undress and check her for bruises and bites. She was left alone crying for hours while older children who didn't even belong in the room were being cared for and she was sent home almost daily without clothing items (usually her pants) and in diapers that did not belong to her. My child would cry every morning at drop off and I witnessed multiple times were staff members talked very aggressively to young children. The daycare also changed their hours multiple times with little notice and even closed "due to covid" or other issues without notice. They also never locked the front door, my backup child care person picked her up a couple times and just walked into the inner door to the room where kids where kept because it wasn't locked. Other days the door would be locked and no children were in the front room and you could knock and ring the door bell and call and no one would answer to bring your child to you. They owner would also be extremely rude when they assumed you didn't do something, for example one day she was there longer than usual (I usually made a point to pick her up after 5-6 hours) and they lost her breast milk then proceeded to call and text me while I was in a meeting telling me that I needed to pick my child up because she had no food. When I removed my child from the facility I was then told that I was just feeling this way because "She's my first child" but I have her in a new facility where she comes home smiling daily and doesn't cry at drop off or come home sniffing like she's been crying for hours on end. Almost all of the good reviews are also by the owner or employees and not actual parents.

Thanks so much for your review. Every review on this site is from a parent. There are numerous parent reviews on other sites as well. There were no bruises on your child brought to my attention by you or any member of staff while in care. Most parents that genuinely have concerns, especially as troubling as what you are claiming, bring it to the attention of staff and don't continue to bring their child as you did. When you finally brought your claims to my attention on the last day in care, I asked to see the "proof" you had so that I could address your concerns. I gave you my email as we were speaking. You pretended to send me the pics but didn't actually follow through. It was never brought to my attention that the staff spoke to children "aggressively." Regarding the missing bottle, the staff member contacted me after I had left for the day as she was trying to feed the child. I notified the parent that the child would need to be picked up as there were no additional bottles. The staff member contacted me again stating that she had found the bottle and advised the parent. She apologized for the mix up at pick up. Also, we apply a bug repellent to all children daily during the summer season prior to outdoor time. As most people know, that works for some children and not for others. During covid, we had to adjust our hours and exclude children as did most every other daycare in the area. The staff worked extremely hard during a national pandemic to care for children before a vaccine was available while many others were able to work remotely. They risked their lives to care for other people's children. I will not apologize for closing to give sick staff time to take care of themselves or for excluding kids to ensure that we were operating within state required ratios. We are not mandated to lock the inner door. Both staff and parents are able to lock the door. Although reminded, sometimes people forget. Lastly, when there are infants in care, their classroom which is located towards the back of the building is the last one to close in the evening. For the safety of the infants, we are not able to move them to classrooms for older children. The older children have to be moved into the infant room. Lastly, I am unsure how you were able to state/see that older children were being cared for instead of infants, when parents were not allowed in the building due to covid 19 restrictions. I am so happy to hear that you have found a better fit for your needs.

My daughter loves going to lighthouse daycare. She learns a lot every day and brings what she learns home with her. Since she's been going, there has been a tangible difference in her social and interpersonal skills. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about lighthouse daycare. Miss Demetria keeps the parents informed about all the going ons at school and the children's activities. It's so great to see their smiling faces when she posts photos! I highly recommend.

My two boys really enjoyed attending the Lighthouse. I was very happy with the service provided and felt like they were at home when I left them there. I was very satisfied with the level of care.

My son learned so much at The Lighthouse. Ms.Young is very dedicated to preparing children for kindergarten. There are so many activities and age appropriate toys. The children learned colors, numbers, shapes and so much more. It really is set up like a preschool. He learned to try new foods through the meals that she prepared and would eat things at school I could never get him to try at home! I highly recommend The Lighthouse to anyone looking for a great preschool.
