About the business
I am a previous childcare licensing inspector with VDSS. My commitment toward preschool education equity and the safety of children inspired me to return to the field. I am now the proud owner of a licensed family day home - currently enrolling children >2 years old. Our curriculum is Montessori-inspired and focuses on the "whole child" - with emphasis on children's social and emotional development.

I graduated from James Madison University [J-M-U-Duuukes] with a degree in Social Work. A move to Chicago, IL accelerated my career in early childhood education. Upon returning to Virginia, I became an employee of the Virginia Department of Social Services - Division of Licensing [Children's Programs] and acquired an abundance of experience in interpreting and enforcing childcare standards and regulations, conducting investigations, and providing training and consultation to ensure the health and safety of children within childcare centers and family day home environments. Although I thoroughly enjoyed working for the Commonwealth of Virginia, my work on a micro level was not yet complete. I have a genuine passion for working more intimately with families and serving my community.

Ivy's circle is awesome! If feel good that my kiddos look forward to going and don't want to leave. They actually go out and get dirty. Ms. Ivy is a ray of sunshine. The space is clean and clutter free. Thank goddess.

Ms. Ivy has been a blessing to me and my family. My children LOVE her and her methods of teaching through life lessons and re-direction are note worthy. She is extremely patient and understanding . Ms. Ivy puts the CARE in caregiver.
