Our daughter went to Irene's place when she was 18 months old, and now she is 3 years old. We can definitely tell Irene and her assistant Teresa take great care of her.
Our daughter has always been a picky eater, but Irene and Teresa do a great job in teaching her to feed herself and encouragement her to try a variety of food. Irene provides 3 meals per day, including breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. They are a healthy combination of protein, veggies and carbohydrates. Our daughter always come home telling us what she eats, and she has been feeding herself since she was 2.

Irene and Teresa also have a very effective system of potty training. Within 2 weeks, our daughter was successfully trained.

One other great benefit is that the daycare is Spanish immersive. Our daughter can now speak Spanish fluently. She picks up English from the other kids and we speak Chinese at home. We also notice that Irene and Teresa have a very enrich curriculum tailored to the kid's age. For example, at age 3, our daughter can recognize all 26 letters both upper and lower case; recognize all the numbers and count to over 30 in both English and Spanish; can write her name and other letters; recognize some simple words.

Overall, I highly recommend Irene's daycare.

Irene is an excellent childcare provider. I am so thankful that I found her!

She was prompt in responding to my inquiry (the evening of the same day). It was July and I was looking for a place for my son to start in August as I am a Learning Specialist and Teacher at a middle school and my mother had recently declined in health and could not help with taking care of my son. After speaking with Irene on the phone, talking with her refrences, going for a visit, and reviewing her policies and philosophy I was ready to sign up. She had already let me know that someone else was considering taking a spot and that they would let her know by the end of the week, and if they didn't take it, the spot would be open for us. Thankfully for us, they didn't take the spot and my son was able to attend. My son started there when he was 9 months old and he is now 26 months old.

My son is happy, a good eater, curious, comes home showing and telling me new things he is learning. I am so thankful we found Irene's Family Child Care. Irene has been amazing with my son and the other children and families are so kind and welcoming too. It is such a relief to know that he is being cared for so well while I'm at work. Irene provides a variety of activities each day that engages the children in curiosity and learning with lots of time playing outside. They are engaging in activities that develop children's fine and gross motor skills, thinking through problems, working together, etc. As an educator, I am so pleased with the foundation that my son is receiving now at Irene's that will set him up for being an engaged persevering learner for his whole life.

I can't recommend Irene more highly.

I would say that Irene did a really great job with caring for Rosy . She had never been expose much to other kids since living in Redwood City and she was a bit timid and shy , when she started daycare with Irene, she started changing , she hyas been talkative , expressive , she tells me what she wants , shes been eating really good since daycare. Im thankful for Irene for giving Rosy the opportunity to learn from her.

Irene was notified that I was moving to South San Francisco from Oakland with my 3 year old. Irene met with me and then I did another tour with my parents, my child's grandparents. I was very serious, in fact i chose the house i rented based on where my sons daycare would be located. I was excited to be able to walk my child to and from daycare. I made a 3rd trip to pick up the paperwork and told her i was filling out the forms and retrieving my sons immunization forms. She made no mention of a deposit and she sounded and looked to be ready to accept at least 2-3 more children. I moved on the 31st and the 1st, was ill on the 2nd (exhausted from the move) and on the 3rd i stopped by to drop off a check. Irene told me that she was sorry that the spot was filled. I was shocked. Irene did leave a message for me on the 1st, a general message with nothing about losing our spot. A cheerful, short following up kind of message with no urgency or detail. Irene made made little effort or attempt to get a hold of me in person to warn me that I was losing my child's spot. She knew i was moving specifically next to her because of her services and how close we would be to walking there each day, along with her availability. Irene obviously was more interested in filling her last slot (i was unaware of this) with a full time child vs my son attending 2 weeks a month to start. Problem is i moved down the street to have my son attend this daycare. Irene knew i was serious and when it came time to hand her a check for my son she already had a full time child in place in my sons spot. Irene was asked 2 weeks ago if it was ok to start part time (2 weeks childcare vs 4) then work to full time. Irene told me this would be fine and half the cost of full time. It is obvious after talking to many other daycare owners she was more interested in the money then doing the right thing. She didn't even offer to put me on a waiting list. Just "sorry" and handed my check back to me while a room full of children looked up in confusion. Being a single dad in 2016 is rough. Finding childcare in San Francisco and on the Peninsula makes it more of a challenge. Having a day care not being forthright or putting an honest effort in communicating is not acceptable. This really put me out. I was in shock, had to pull my car over and shake my head a few times. Now I'm scrambling to find childcare.
