About the business
Hi and welcome to Fledgling Prep!
A little bit about me:
I've worked in early childhood education for many years at schools and as a personal nanny.
I have a BA in psychology and like to incorporate social-emotional skills into my curriculum.
Why choose Fledgling Prep? I understand the significance of preparing our little ones to fly in this ever changing and challenging world, while still giving them the opportunity explore and engage in their curiosity in a safe environment.
I believe in the importance of nurturing a curious mind. Spending time outside immersed in the world around us, creates organic opportunities to explore and connect with each other and the planet. Studies have shown the importance of spending time outside for improved mental and physical health. We spend a great deal of our time outside, rain or shine. So if muddy boots and happy smiles sound like what you are looking for, then this is the place for your family!
When we're not outside, I have a play space full of open ended toys that promote creativity and learning for all ages. My goal as an educator is to encourage a hunger and enthusiasm for learning by fostering a growth mindset. The curriculum I plan is Reggio and Montessori inspired, which is led by the child's interests, utilizes play as a tool and guided by related daily activities. Scaffolding each lesson plan to the appropriate age level of the children's current interests builds self-confidence as they learn to accomplish new challenges.
My hours are flexible, so please contact me with your specific needs so I can best determine how to support you and your family!
I offer drop in care and permanent/held spots for up to 4 hours a day.
