About the business
I am moving to Northwest Arkansas mid August 2020 and looking for a nanny position. This info is for the licensed in-home child care home I will still have until then.
We provide loving, reliable child care in a home setting. The care we provide is a combination of my experiences as a lead teacher in a child care center, a licensed foster parent, a licensed in-home child care provider for over 8 years, a volunteer and director in my churches' Children's Ministries, and a mom to my 7 children, the youngest of whom is now 12 years old.
We enjoy building a loving, nurturing, safe, clean environment where children feel emotionally secure and can explore and learn through teacher directed group activities as well as individual and peer play.
We specialize in caring for infants and enjoy growing them up until they enter kindergarten. Children thrive on routine and stability which is why our day follows a predictable routine allowing for some flexibility.
Our days include USDA food program approved breakfast, lunch and snack with at least 10 fruits and 10 vegetables a week. Most of our fruits and vegetables are fresh. We avoid processed foods most of the time and serve organic milk with our home cooked meals. We participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program. (This institution is an equal opportunity provider.)
We play outside in our large, fenced-in backyard as much as the weather permits and take walks with a 4-child stroller when it's too muddy out back and isn't raining. Our children (that is your children, should you choose to let us care for them) stimulate their brains through circle time activities, story times, arts and crafts, puzzles, games, play-dough, music, pretend play, etc. We participate in fine and gross motor activities daily.
We will occasionally look up something our children show an interest in and, after previewing it, share it with them such as a video showing newly hatched turtles clamoring toward the ocean, but we don't watch TV. We have so much fun we don't even realize we're learning!
My degree is in Secondary Education with endorsements in English and German, but my heart is with infants and preschoolers. I am CPR/1st Aid certified and MAT trained. We are a non-smoking home with a 2-year old, 40 pound dog who is very child friendly, 2 new kittens and 2 rabbits.
Parents receive a note at the end of each day telling about their child's day and a photo texted almost every day. Numerous references available.
