I don't even know where to begin. I first contacted Neidy when I was looking to move to the Ellicott City area to be closer to work. All the other centers I contacted at that time were either closed, or unable to accept new children due to the pandemic. Neidy did not have a lot of children because her childcare facility is fairly new, and she probably lost some kids at the start of the pandemic. She only had 2 year olds (my son is 4) but she assured me that that was better because she would be better able to spend more time to get him ready for pre-school. His very first day she was complaining about the things that he doesn't know how to do and starts pushing this form on us that goes over what my child SHOULD be doing at his age. Now granted, I know my son is behind in certain aspects because he wasn't learning much at his previous daycare, but I told Neidy that in the beginning and that she would need to work with him a little and he would catch up. Day after day she continues to tell me how behind he is (at this point I'm irritated). She then starts to complain that he is not behaving and is giving her a hard time. I felt early on that this would happen because she only has 2-year olds, and my 4-year-old son is on a different level than they are and requires different activities; But I desperately needed childcare and did not think she would complain THIS soon. Every single day that I picked him up she complained about his whining, his tantrums, and acting out. She kept him in timeout constantly and she even went as far as to give me an incident form every time she acted out. Anyone that TRULY knows children would know that my son spent most the day bored out of his mind because he was surrounded by children still in bouncy chairs and Neidy did not care to keep him entertained and busy on her own. To show me just how overwhelming my son is, she precedes to record him. He is literally doing NOTHING in the videos. Is he frustrated? Yes, hes FOUR!! I would be happy to send anyone the videos that would like to see just what this lady couldn't handle. I do not believe Neidy has any real experience caring for children outside of her own. She just opened her home daycare in October 2019 and already has a 5-star review from before she was even open. Make of that what you will. After 3 miserable weeks, I finally decided to pull my son out and put him in a center with other children his age. I waited a whole week to write this review just to see how he does at the new center. He's GREAT! His teachers say he is doing very well, little to no tantrums, no time-outs, and he gets along with all the other children. When he was with Neidy, he constantly came home crying and whining and I could barely calm him down. In his new center, he is always happy when I pick him up and is eager to tell me about his day. I have NEVER had this type of experience with a childcare provider before. No one had EVER complained or RECORDED my son like Neidy has. She has no patience for children over the age of 2 (especially if they are energetic) unless they are robotic and sit down all day. I do not think childcare is her calling at ALL. And to top it off, she wouldn't even allow him to finish his last day. I had less than 24 hours to hurry and find a new center and she calls me at 11am to pick him up because he pushed another child. My son has never hit another child before and suddenly, he's doing it at her daycare. I think she is a liar and just did not like my child. Sorry this is so long but I think all parents should be warned about this terrible lady with her fake reviews.

Dear: Tiara
I am disappointed that you feel this way regarding my program. Per Bird of Paradise Bilingual Childcare Handbook that was provided to you, you signed and agreed to the Provisional Period Policy, that for all new clients a 4-week provisional period will be given and I may decide to unenroll your child from my program if your child is not adjusting to the group or if I am unable to meet your child's needs. This Provisional Period is aimed at providing both myself and parents the opportunity to assess whether we are a good fit for one another. It was determined at the end of the provisional time that it would be in the best interest of the child to go to another daycare. I am glad to hear he is thriving at his new location. Best Wishes!

We are so grateful to have found Ms. Neidy. My two sons (3 and 4 yrs old) were instantly drawn to her and had no trouble transitioning into her daycare. I've been impressed with Ms. Neidy's warmth and nurturing as well as the Montessori inspired environment she's created that cultivates creativity and curiosity. My kids are excited to go to school each morning and equally excited to show me what they did that day. We couldn't ask for a more wonderful childcare provider.
