Au Bonheur des Enfants is a licensed French immersion home day care service that offers a play based learning environment and welcomes families from all backgrounds. Au Bonheur des Enfants was born with the vision to provide children with a fun and stimulating environment immersed in French language and culture. It is located in a calm, friendly neighborhood on the East side of Lansing (close to Michigan State University Club).
Our goal is to provide a safe environment where children can develop and acquire new knowledge in an enjoyable French-speaking environment, feel comfortable, respected, and cared for. Each child has their own pace and personality and we wish to help them bring out the best in themselves and start them on their journey to a bilingual life with all the joys that will bring.
Studies show that exposure to a foreign language in the early stages of a child's development enables children to fluently master that language and develop a multifaceted perspective of the world. As a result, children who learn a second language are better equipped to communicate and adapt their interactions with people of different cultural backgrounds and perspectives.

I came to Khadija & Saad after having taken my son, who was then 9 months of age, to three different day cares, two nannies, and two on-call babysitters. Now that my husband and I are moving to a different state, our biggest concern is how we will ever find another childcare like Au Bonheur. Khadija & Saad have a bright, clean, organized, educational, and loving in-home care. When I pick up and drop off my son, it is apparent that all the kids love them. My son often cries when I dropped him off at his previous daycares/nannies' but he is always excited to go to Au Bonheur. Since being there, he has not gotten sick a single time (as compared to what seemed like a never-ending slew of colds and fevers during the previous few months). I never worry about packing his lunch or milk because Khadija and Saad provide everything and even wash his bottle for him! They cook the babies and toddlers healthy, organic vegetable- and fruit-based meals and send photos of my son loving every bite. During his time at Au Bonheur, my son has even learned to respond to simple French phrases! While I have not gotten him to respond to anything in English, he responds to "sit," "eat," "drink," "don't put that in your mouth," and "change diaper" in French - it's amazing.
In addition to taking excellent care of the children, Khadija & Saad are very kind folks. On one occasion, I (reluctantly) asked them to watch my son for an extra half hour due to my work schedule, and it ended up being an extra 50 minutes due to traffic. However, they were completely accommodating and willing to help, and my son obviously loved staying there with them. It was truly a selfless act given that they spend 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM with these kids every day, and to have kept my son for almost another hour meant one less hour for them to relax and recoup for the next day.
I unreservedly recommend Au Bonheur to anyone seeking care for their infant or toddler. My only regret is not having found Khadija & Saad sooner!

Amazing daycare, Khadija is very kind and caring, she's deal with the kids professionally and nicely. My twin girls love hehebar and Saad and enjoyed their time with them and the other kids. As a mom and dad we always felt that our girls are in good hands.
