About who needs care: Mid 60s post-stroke patient with aphasia. She struggles with tremors, body weakness, and residual pain from her stroke, and arthritis. She struggles with communication and is very lonely. She enjoys walking, being in the sun and by the pool/water, and small activities. She struggles to eat enough as shes a stubborn and picky eater; it would be nice to see her get breakfast with her morning coffee, have a few planned activities (walking, going to the store, being out of the home, etc), have a small lunch - get enough water - and feel like she has accomplished or finished something; she looks for odd projects around the home while we are out.
About the care needs: Some one who can deftly navigate the language/communication barrier inherent with Aphasia, willing to be outside for long periods of time, patient, and able to be lightly active. loves to go through old photos, be nostalgic, and sort through things in the home/reorganize her space. Some one willing to be a part of, or help structure those activities would be great. She also loves animals, so a pet lover is a must.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, and mobility assistance.
