Oxford English Literature graduate with BA and Masters. Very experienced and professional.
As a current graduate student at the University of Oxford, I’m looking for employment over the summer vacation before I begin my PhD at the University of Cambridge in January 2018. My advanced academic training, combined with my work experience, makes me ideally suited to employment in education.
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Double First in the summer of 2016 and am now enrolled on the MSt in English (####-####) at the University of Oxford. In January of next year, I will be returning to Cambridge to do my PhD in Renaissance literature. My studies will be funded by an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) scholarship, hosted by the Faculty of English.
I have been tutoring professionally for over four years now, as well as volunteering as a Philosophy and English tutor at my local college where struggling students don’t always have the means to afford private tutoring themselves. In the spring of 2013, I worked as a volunteer English and History teacher at an underprivileged school in Cape Town, South Africa, and in the summer of 2015 I procured a travel grant which enabled me to return to Cape Town and volunteer as an English teacher at another local school. As well as my teaching experience, I have worked in the catering and service industry as both a waitress and a manager. I thrive on hard work and am stimulated when working in a busy and social environment.
