Qualified nursery nurse Experienced support worker
| My name is Stephanie, I am 23 years old and I live in Clydebank with my partner and my 2 year old little girl. I am an enthusiastic, passionate and outgoing person; and I am optimistic about the future. I am very hard working and will put my all into any job given, to get it done to the best of my ability whilst encouraging others to do the same. I am confident and like to be creative and original. I love to meet new people and would say I have an easy going nature. I love to help others and spend so much time doing so. My whole career has involved care between children and adults and that is what my passion is, to make a difference for others and to put all my help and experience where is needed. For 19 months I worked full time in sunflower nursery I saw myself as a proactive member of a staff team, I provided a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and children aged 0-5 are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. In this time I achieved my SVQ level 3 in childcare. I spend my first 12 months working with pre-school children aged 4-5 helping and supporting their preparation for primary school, I helped my mentor at the time in the nursery to spend time with each individual child to help with their transition from nursery to primary school. I had a great relationship with all the kids and staff at my workplace and left to go and gain more experience with adults in care. I left once I achieved my SVQ level 3 and was looking to possibly take my qualification further and gain more experience in other work places. I have worked between paid and voluntarily care and support work for around 8 years, I have spent my last 3 years working with adults as their home support worker and I absolutely loved it, but I feel My skills and qualities are more suited for children, I have just finished doing sessional work with Strathclyde autistic society, which I support kids aged 5-12 with all different kinds of needs, some babe autism, Asperger, ADHD and other health problems. I am extremely confident and think to make a difference to their lives by helping them have as much fun and enjoyment out of their time at the play scheme, this runs in summer holidays every year, this year was my 5th year.
