| In January I will be starting a part time role at West Mercia police dog section looking after the police dogs and I am lookingI manage a block of up to 30 dogs with two other staff members. In my current role as a K9 Carer I participate in duties such as cleaning the kennels, general cleaning of the work place, exercising, feeding/watering, assessing dogs behaviour, assisting the dog warden with stray dogs, teaching basic training to the dogs and generally taking care, interacting/socialising and making the dogs stay with us as happy as possible. As a veterinary care assistant, I carry out duties such as giving medicated and non-medicated bathing/grooming, nail clipping, giving prescribed medication, assisting the vet with euthanasia of the dogs, raising the vein in the dogs’ leg for the vet to carry out the euthanasia. I also restrain the dog for the vet to check over as well as vaccinating, microchipping, nursing ill dogs back to health and basic health checking of the dog.

Dogs & Cats I have looked after a family friend's dog countless times whilst they have been away on holiday. I have also helped to train these dogs to not pull on the lead anymore.
