| Hi! I'm Julia and I'm simply a huge dog lover. I have had dogs since I remember and I've always loved spending time with them. I appreciate how much positive energy these furry creatures can give you and how unselfish they are. My best friends stayed at my family home in a different country and after i've moved I can see how much I need dogs' companion. Long walks in forests and parks, playing in the garden and teaching tricks was my daily basis. My dogs are: Colin-Border Collie and Luke- a Westie. Luke has diabetes, which has taught me to keep a cool mind in case of emergencies. I am also aware of how important it is to keep dog's healthy diet. Colin is a very friendly dog, but he seems not to be aware of how big and heavy he is, thus I have learned how to manage dogs bigger than me. | Due to usually being surrounded by pets my entire life, I have discovered a love and a passion for caring for animals. Earlier this year, my family and I adopted an amazing dog from Dogs Trust in basildon; because of his rough start to life and previously being mistreated, he has bad behavioural problems and aggressive tendencies. I spent 6 weeks attending dog training classes to help my dog overcome his struggles, become more obedient and more comfortable around people. I believe these training classes also helped me understand dogs overall behaviour and how to deal with every situation better.

As a child, I lived next to a stud farm and was always there with the horses and donkeys helping out. I've also owned many small pets in my younger years, such as tropical fish, hamsters, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chickens etc. I basically get on easily with most animals and they generally tend to feel comfortable around me. I am also a Reiki master (healer) and went on to do a Reiki for animals course, which included doing sessions on animals at London Zoo at one point. Having now given up my job at a college in London, I am looking to follow my passion in caring for animals. I'm in the process of setting up my own pet sitting/dog walking business. I have grown up with dogs including a Labrador, Cairn terrier and an Alsatian as well as cats. This included their basic care such as walks, feeding and of course cuddles! I have looked after friends and families pets (dogs, cats and fish) whilst they've been on holiday. Although I know the basic commands (sit, heel and stay) I am currently taking a Level 2 Dog Walking certificate to give me additional insight in to the way a dogs mind works. Me and my two young male cats were very lucky to find Mel, and be her first 'official' clients. Mel's passion for looking after, and being extremely welcoming and comfortable around new animals, was clear from the minute she arrived. It was my first trip away from them too, and she made sure she kept in touch with updates etc. She also took in her stride that both had had recent surgery, and also watered my large garden on her two visits a day. On my return she left a lovely message and was right, her visits had brought my little ones confidence out no end, and she even bought him his own laser pen. A lovely cat sitting relationship has hopefully begun and I feel very confident in using Mel again... And the kitties can't wait...
