Purrsonally Paws....!
| I have had pet cats throughout my life: kittens, adult and elderly and infirm, always having a special affinity with them. I've been cat/home sitter, or have visited twice a day, to feed and clean the litter trays and spend time there, sometimes medicating and/or injecting. (References are available) .I have volunteered at catteries to socialize, feed and clean pens for thirty years, and have fostered many cats in my own home. It is essential to make everything clean, dry, warm and comfortable, with food and fresh water and litter tray, but just as important is show gentleness and calm, to put the cats at ease. I have four cats now, one elderly and three middle aged, but in the past have cared for the so called unhomable ones with severe problems, including those blind and disabled. Those dear souls, nervous or with not long to live, give such love in return. My cats were my sole companions in lock down, and I would not have done well without them.

What questions should I ask a cat sitter in an interview?

The best cat sitters in Epsom have a combination of experience and passion for cat care. Ask questions about the types of pets they have personally owned and how often they are currently cat sitting. Because cats behave differently than dogs, make sure to ask questions that are specific to cat behaviours and tendencies. It's also a good idea to give specific scenarios to the cat sitter you're speaking to so you can have a good idea of how they will treat your cat when they are in your home. Be sure to ask for references from other cat parents in Epsom that have worked with the sitter of your preference.
