Ward Volunteer NHS Lothian | Edinburgh, United Kingdom - Directing team members during the busy environment of the ward to exceed goals and create a positive environment during shifts by way of motivation, guidance, and mentoring. - Help patients who need assistance with eating such as cutting up food, ensuring the tray and napkin are in the right position and their drink is within reach, clearing away the tray when the patient is finished. - Working alongside clinical staff to provide an extra dimension to care by providing social support for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury and dementia as well as their carers. - Taking up a proactive approach at work with other supervisors and Nurse in Charge to set and evaluate individual patient needs. - Responsible for making sure that service of 1 to 1 activities, e.g. reading, games, reminiscence, crafts, visits to the garden/shop is always efficient but professional.

| Hi there I’m Clare and I have nearly 30 years of care experience. I have worked mainly with adults with learning and complex disability’s, and older people with dementia. | My name is Erin Im 22 and currently a student at the university of Stirling. I have previously worked for SCRT Stirling as a homecare assistant for 6 months, and Apollo homecare in Leeds as a live in care assistant for 2 months. As I am studying I am only looking for one shift a week, but happy to do a day shift and then a live in shift at night if that is needed, and am also happy to do night shifts. I am an active person, I spent the last year cycling from the north of South America, Colombia, to the south, Argentina. During this trip I met many different people and believe I am able to connect with most people. For me the most important quality as a health care assistant is being able to complete all care tasks whilst also giving the client their independence and not only making sure they are safe but also that they have company that is interested in them and who they are.
