Professional Carer who worked previously in a Care Home and is now working as a Live-in Carer.
| I am a mature female who has a total of 7 years’ experience as a care assistant in a 61 bedroom care home. I was one of several people who worked permanent night shifts attending to the needs of the residents. These residents suffer from Dementia, Alzheimers, Challenging behaviour, stroke victims, Parkinsons, Brain injuries etc. I am currently working as a Live-in carer and I enjoy my role immensely. I am able to get on with people of all ages and backgrounds. I am perhaps more of a listener than a talker. I am very family orientated and very close to my family, brothers, and sisters etc. I get a lot of satisfaction caring for the elderly and it's very fulfilling when I see how much help I can be. I am happy with all my achievements in life. I like reading, walking in good weather, watching tv, cooking, sports especially cricket, going out occasionally for a meal, etc.

Dementia carer (currently nights)
| I have been working in a nursing home since becoming a carer with dementia patients, however I think working with someone in their own home would be more suitable for me. Before I became a carer I helped a neighbour with day to day things after his wife had died and was by his side until the day he died too, being with him for so many years pushed me to get into care, he always told me I’d make a brilliant carer so I followed his wishes and hear I am today :) I like to build a bond with each individual I work with, I’m not just a carer but I’m their friend, someone they can trust and rely on, have a laugh with, a shoulder to cry on - I will always be there. Being a carer it’s important to remember you do not only have a duty of care to the individual, but also the family too, I feel the most rewarding part of my job is hearing the family’s appreciation for what you do. I’m 19, however I’m always told that I’m wise beyond my years, I had to grow up fast, I don’t believe that age or how many years experience you have should matter, I am a carer, I know I’m good at my job, I really do care about my residents they’re like my family. Hope to hear from you soon :)

Hi I’m zoe im 37yrs old I’m married with 2 children.
| I started in healthcare when i left school working at birch avenue EMI home where i loved caring for our elderly residents with dementia and supporting there families. After 2 1/2 years I decided it was time to move on as there was a position at Northern General Hospital for a support worker it was a chance for me to learn new skills and care for patients of all ages suffering from a variety of medical conditions. In 2016 i left the nhs due to family commitments but then in 2020 i set up my own little business doing what I’ve loved doing for over 15yrs. I am a very caring ,compassionate, patient person And i put 110% in to everything i do.

Happy To Help: Companionship and Errands
| Please be aware that I do not have any official experience caring for the elderly and I am not officially qualified; I understand that this may not be suitable for everyone. My experience: Caring for my grandmother (aged 78) who passed away in 2013. She had extreme mobility issues and was eventually bed bound; she also had mild dementia so I have a lot of experience communicating with and assisting individuals who suffer from dementia. I primarily helped care for my grandmother by running errands (doing the shopping, doing housekeeping, doing washing/ironing, tending to the garden, etc), cooking for her, and providing companionship and assistance for anywhere between one and 12 hours. I also assisted with basic care such as dressing her, helping her to the toilet, helping her up the stairs, helping with phone calls, etc. Caring for my grandfather (aged 84) who is still with us. My grandfather is more dependent but still needs occasional help. I primarily run errands as mentioned above, but my main support for him is companionship. Availability: please note I work full-time. My working hours are Monday-Friday 09:30-17:30.

Care Assistant specialising in dementia
| I am a 29 year old with two young children who lived in Clayton West and I am looking to supplement my income. I am a qualified health care assistant, I have a national diploma level two and the care certificate. I have also been extensively trained in dementia. I am experienced in all personal care and I have even had experience as a domestic in a health care setting so I am happy to do any cleaning tasks. I can't say I'm fantastic at cooking meals (because I'm not) but I can definitely do an easy home cooked meal if it is needed. I genuinely love the patients and residents that I have worked with over the years, so if you feel like your loved one needs a companion then no problem I'm sure we will be firm friends. Please feel free to message me for any more details, please note that I don't have my own transport and I would be travelling by public transport or by my own personal taxi driver (husband) so please bare that I'm mind when considering me because I know people don't always like that. I am a kind person I promise!
