I grew up in the company of different pets and became the go-to person for family, friends and colleagues for pet sitting work - this, and working for rescue shelters, has provided me with invaluable experience. I have cared for animals with health and behaviour issues which I feel confident to manage with a calm, compassionate and adaptable approach. My late cat required daily insulin injections for diabetes which thankfully went into remission a couple of years before he passed away, which the vet put down to attentive care and dedication to the treatment plan. Whilst volunteering with the Blue Cross (2013/14) and Mbwa wa Africa in Tanzania (2017), I was responsible for feeding, cleaning, grooming, playing, and exercising. In Tanzania I got to observe and even assist with neutering/spaying operations. I learned so much about animal behaviour and welfare during this time. In February 2018 I attended an informal day course in dog and cat first aid provided by my local veterinary practice. I am also registered with a pet sitting website called Trusted Housesitters which allows people like myself to travel and care for animals at the same time. I am on my 12th sit currently and have received 5 star reviews for my services.
