Lindylou's Childcare, based in Littleover. Mature, experienced childcare in a home setting.

I am a mature Ofsted registered child care provider living in Littleover in Derby and I have been a special needs teacher, a nanny, a playgroup supervisor, a Sunday school teacher, an approved foster carer and an adoptive parent. I also used to be a child minder years ago for over ten years. I re-registered as a child minder three years ago, because I have a grandson who has shown me how to fall in love with small children all over again! I have a grading of "good" in all areas from Ofsted. I left the teaching profession and now work in adult education and I also assess other child care providers in their setting and lecture in the evenings, I also have my own therapy business. I really enjoy working from my own home and being my own boss. My child care business is called "Lindylou's Childcare" and is all about safeguarding, caring for and educating young children. I have full insurance, First Aid and food hygiene certificates as well as DBS certificates. I also have numerous other certificates and qualifications and you can check all these along with my policies and my setting when you come and visit. I have a dedicated playroom although children play and eat and engage in activity throughout the whole of the downstairs accommodation including kitchen, a secure garden, a gated decking area and a dining room and we have an additional bathroom downstairs. I can cater for children 0 -8 years plus dropping and collecting from local schools/nurseries/playgroups if required. We are pet friendly. I have fish, I keep a couple of hens, and I do have a dog, a very friendly German shepherd, but I have policies around that, and never leave dogs and children alone, even though my dog is very tolerant. Childminding offers a home environment, we are not a nursery, although we are well resourced and equipped and follow the same codes and guidelines.
