| I'm Maria. I’m an early years teacher and I possess Qualified Teacher Status in England. I’m also an Ofsted Registered Childminder and Paediatric First Aid Qualified. I have recently created a home educational setting, The Owls House, in which children learn through playing and exploring how to be independent, how to manage their feelings and develop skills in all areas of development. I plan activities and educational experiences based in children's interests and needs, helping them to progress well in a secure and stimulating environment. I’m fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English (I am native Spanish). You can choose a second language for your child who will learn it through playing, stories, songs, circle #####...## a natural way. I’ve an experience of 10 years working with children between 1 and 6 years old in different nursery schools around the world. I have learned, especially in Italy, a Reggio educational approach, an education based on creativity where free play, arts and nature are considered essential to learn skills in all areas of development.

| I am a registered childminder and have spaces available from June 2024. I have worked in a nursery as a Level 3 practitioner for the past 7.5 years with children aged 0-5. Alongside this I have been babysitting/caring for children on weekends also. I have had various different experiences throughout my life such as working in a breakfast & after school club, a primary school, an office and also in various nursery settings where I have worked with babies, toddlers and pre school age. I'd like to consider myself as a honest and reliable person who has good time keeping and communication skills. I feel I am very approachable and a down to earth individual. I enjoy the outside and love arts and crafts, especially when children are involved! I have a son who is in primary school and a daughter who is 2 years old. My partner is also DBS checked. I suffer with coeliac disease (gluten allergy) so we are well aware of allergies etc and can accommodate these. Please feel free to contact me if you’d like some help with childcare. I have appropriate training including First Aid, Safeguarding children, Supporting children with Special Education Needs and Disability, Food hygiene and other relevant qualifications. I live in Blackfen in Sidcup area (Holbeach Gardens) and am walk-able distance to Our Lady Of The Rosary Catholic Primary School and Days Lane Primary School.
