Hi, my name is Emma and I am a registered childminder in Tyldesley close to Astley Street Park. I have been working in childcare for the past 20 years. I have worked in nurseries and as a nanny. I love children and enjoy their company immensely and find nothing is more rewarding than taking care of them. I believe in creating a positive, happy environment for children, one in which they feel protected and thrive.
Most of my experience is from working in nurseries with children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years. I have also been a nanny for one child for 4 years from them being 5 months old to them going to school.
Indoors I have a large playroom dedicated to children. I am regulated by the EYFS guidelines, so my activities are varied - I provide messy play, arts and crafts, dressing up, reading, cooking, singing and lots more. I am a few minutes’ walk away from Astley street park.
I have an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Children's Learning Care & Development. I am DBS checked and I am also qualified in Paediatric first aid.

my-childminder has been established since 1983. We have now changed to My Nursery but the same on the inside.
Our childcare & education services are offered between the hours of
7.30am until 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
There are 8 members of our team who are dedicated childcare workers, 4 full time & 4 part time.
Each are qualified to exceptional levels in childcare & each progressing on our own professional development within our work.
Caring for children and babies from birth with our separate baby room.
In total we have 18 registered places for children under 8 years of age.
Children are admitted to places within availability, following discussion with parents to ensure that the service offered meets the needs of the family.
Before & after school care & school holidays.

In order to focus on the Early Years learning outcomes, I use a wide range of resources including tuff tray activities, games, puzzles, soft toys, role play, vehicles and much more. I have a wide range of Early Years reading books, as I am a strong and passionate advocate of reading and storytime.
I also have a spacious, downstairs toilet which allows children ease of access. Our local park is just a 30 second walk, and with a quad pram, I do take advantage of this!

In my 12 years of childcare I have always worked with children. I have a great knowledge and understanding of how children learn and develop and how to help them to do this. Children learn best through play and experiencing new things first hand. I take the children out to a variety of places; walks, parks, woodland adventures, toddler/playgroups, occasional soft play trips, museums to name a few.
I take great pride in my work and continually try to better myself undertaking training and peer observations with other childminders.
